The microwave is functional. Tried it this morning. We do not advertise a dryer. We may have one eventually, but clothes line is what we use.

We look to face lift the bathroom and kitchen floor. That said, everything working and in good condition. I wrote a few times to the guest with our cell numbers to let us know if there’s anything they need as we live 20 minutes away. Disappointingly, the guests never replied and preferred leaving unspecific comments on the review. we will not rent to these guests again.

Serious issues
Publié le 16 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayI almost never do reviews but need to do this one. Property has serious septic/leach field issue and should not have been rented in this condition. Back yard was flooded with overflow and wastewater was pooled up under the back deck to the extent you could hear it gurgle when toilet was flushed. When the washing machine drained the toilet burped and we had to close the windows from the smell of the yard. The toilet was leaking at the base onto the bathroom floor and required two flushes to get rid of all material. The handle for the diverter on the tub/shower was missing and replaced with a wingnut. There was mold around the tub surround. There were so many flies when we first got there we had to buy fly strips in town after killing the first dozen or so with the fly swatter. One of the lamps had the socket with the bulb dangling. I'm sure this was a well-kept nice property in the past but is in poor shape and seriously neglected now and we did not have a good experience at all. There is no way the owner could be unaware of the septic issue as the lawn was mowed right through the flooded back yard before we got there and the overall condition of everything didn't happen overnight. If we would have had someplace else to go we would have left and demanded a refund. We weren't expecting a palace for the price but did expect to at least have a working septic system. We have used VRBO a few times in the past and enjoyed our stays but not this time.

Early October get away
Publié le 7 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayHusband and I stayed 5 days in beginning of October. Very nice cottage and beautiful location right on the bay. The pictures online really do show how close you are to the water. With binoculars you could see PEI's windmills. Unfortunately Hurricane Fiona visited just before us and took out the firepit , we would have loved to have had a fire but still enjoyed our stay.
Would recommend.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the owners were more than helpful and was a pleasure to have made their acquaintance.

Our third time here
Publié le 31 août 2022 sur HomeAwayOur family loves staying here. Location is great for day trips. Couldn’t ask for the ocean to be any closer. The cottage is well equipped for the stay. Will definitely stay here the next time we visit the East Coast.

Family get together
Publié le 4 oct. 2021 sur HomeAwayThe location is great, easy to get to, very quiet, nice sandy beach ,the house is basic and very well equipped with all you might need. The outside definitely needs some tlc, steps from the deck down need maintenance as they have a lean on them . The front door needs adjustment as it does not close properly, The grass needed cutting badly, and there was no firewood as advertised The steps down the banks to access the beach were broken and laying on top of the bank. Fortunately the folk next door were kind enough to let us use their stairs to access the beach.

Stairs were wiped out during hurricane Ida soon before tenants arrived. Tenants were advised, as well as the availability of public stairs to the beach 20 metres on each side. they will be replaced in April.
We are removing mention of firewood in the advert. We live 3 hours away and have a professional cleaning service keep the cottage spic and span between rentals. When we do come down we usually stock the corral with enough wood for 7-8 fires, have a charriot kids bring back plentiful driftwood from the beach, and advise tenants corner stores sell kindles for $5 if they need more. We've come to realize that the more wood we bring, the bigger the first fires get. We will still happily bring firewood, but we can't guarantee stocks so will remove mention on the website.
Grass cutting issue was a surprise because the yard facing the ocean breeze does not grow past June, but will be more diligent with the back yard.
