Absolutely amazing in every way!

Fabulous Vacation Hangout

This property is a large, spacious, well-equipped and clean home that provides absolutely unbeatable views of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The comfort afforded by this home is unbeatable. We are group of five retired and almost-retired professionals who met in college and have rented this house for 8 days for the last two summers. We love staying here and will be seeking to rent it again next year! Can't be beat!!!!

Thank you very much for your enthusiastic words and much appreciated, recurring patronage. I give a lot of credit to my conscientious and industrious team — the extended Leake family. Regarding the view, in 1906 the Nevers family had the pick of the newly subdivided, beachfront lots and chose the one with the best view across the lake and into the entrance to the main chanel. I don’t believe that, marginally, the views from the adjacent lots on either side are quite as impressive. Regards, Dr G

Great Location
Publié le 3 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayHouse is very roomy. Beautiful view from upstairs bedroom and main level “porch rooms”. Advertised air hockey table and there was one, but it didn’t work. Called, and maintenance worker came same day, but couldn’t fix it. Also an issue in one of the bedrooms on 2nd floor with working sockets… of 3 sockets, 1 worked as normal. The other 2 had to have the lights on to work. Maintenance didn’t know how to fix it. Said he would contact the owner. Had to use extension cords in the room which could cause a tripping hazard for small children or older adults. Overall, we had a great time, but these small issues need to be permanently remedied. Don’t advertise a hockey table if it doesn’t work.

I am sorry for your disappointments. With respect to the air hockey unit, customers tend to not report breaking the unit. Therefore, I only find out when the next customer is disappointed and complains. The unit I am purchasing now (hopefully sturdy) will be the third. I certainly do not intend to advertise a non-functional air hockey unit. With respect to the outlets in the two East 2nd floor bedrooms, I am sorry but it is an issue that cannot be corrected without taking out several walls of lath and plaster. I am not sure why the builders created the idiosyncratic outlets as they did in 1907. I make no secret of the age of the house, so, all of our 15 years of previous renters have somehow made allowances and given the house (and my efforts to provide a safe, enjoyable experience) uniformly positive reviews. Beautiful Historic Lakehouse
Publié le 21 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThis house was amazing. One of the most beautiful homes I have ever visited. Very clean and super comfortable beds. Beautiful back yard. Very private and amazingly quiet and safe neighborhood. We felt very safe here. Everyone in our group enjoyed this home. We did not use the game room in the basement because we were all women over 50 years old but it looked like it would be great for people with kids. Loved the incredible view and the front window rooms looking out at the lake. Only issue we had was with the heat/air conditioning. It was freezing cold in the house and also cold and windy and stormy for our whole trip. When we would set the air to heat and 70 degrees it kept changing out to 60 degrees and air conditioner blowing on everyone the whole time. That is our only complaint.

Thank you for the kind words. I am glad you enjoyed your stay despite not understanding the heating system. For the curious: The house is divided into four heat zones for efficiency, each with its own separate thermostat. There are a myriad of setting options for each with instructions printed on the thermostat box. One of the options that appeals to a technophobe like me is to simply set the desired temperature and then press “hold.” That setting will then remain operative until you change it. Air conditioning will not supervene unless you specifically switch from “heat” to “a/c”.

I am sorry you needed extra blankets but let me make a correction. Each second floor bedroom and the hallway does indeed have a heating vent. The house has 4 separate heating zones. One of them is the second floor. You must not have set the second floor thermostat which we naturally turn down between renters to conserve energy. If you read back in our past reviews, you will find one winter renter who remarked on the zoned heating and how it ensured a cozy bedtime during their stay. Best wishes, Dr G

Amazing stay! So grateful!
Publié le 14 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe family thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed the home - and little six-year old Claire loved transforming one of the porches into "Claire's Snow Room" where we all relaxed and watched the beautiful snow, while Claire served us snacks and massaged our shoulders and feet....she loved making her own spa room in the beautiful setting! The Christmas lights were still up at the resort on night #1 and we walked down to Hudson's for burgers one day....and of course went to Higgins Point to appreciate the bald eagles. No visit is complete without a trip to Pilgrim Market and CDA coffee....we sure fit a lot into this little trip!
Perfect location and stay. Beautiful home and so well appointed with everything needed. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful family house!

The property manager, Roni, has been wonderful to work with every time and quickly responds to any needs we may have. The house is clean and well appointed and the view spectacular. It is conveniently located to downtown and we walked to the Resort for lattes one day. It is perfect for kids, with a basement play room. We will always return to this house for as long as we are able!
