Be our guest and mellow out on the delightful white sand beaches only 700 feet from our beautiful Outer Banks vacation home. Or if your prefer, relax and enjoy the sunshine at the private 32 foot pool and private six person hot tub. After all, it's OBX vacation time!

Within Mellow Yellow, you'll find: Two Master Bedroom Suites, both opening to outside decks- Luxurious Master Bath to please the senses, with large soothing oceanic blue/green tiles, and including a Jacuzzi and open double shower- Extremely comfortable Window Seat in the Ship's Watch for stretching out with morning coffee or to read a book anytime.

The ocean views are simply enchanting. A handsome, wood panel Kitchen, fully equipped with all the necessary appliances in stainless steel and utensils. A screened-in Porch, furnished for pleasant Coastal Living type meals. For true outdoor dining, the top deck contains a 4 burner Gas Grill and there is a picnic table, for your enjoyment, in the backyard. Spacious Decks- front and back, top and middle levels- are a great place to enjoy cocktails and sunrises and sunset views.

Mellow Yellow is very child friendly. The Children's bedroom is decorated with hanging ships, kites, stuffed animals and kid friendly graphics. Plus, there is a basketball court, and a large collection of beach and pool toys and books for them to enjoy. For family gatherings, the Game Room is equipped with a full sized Pool Table, Satellite TV, board games, WiFi and a library. Throughout the house there are three TV's hooked to Dish Satellite.

Private 32 foot swimming pool and six person hot tub, serviced twice weekly.

Over twenty miles of pristine, uncrowded white sandy beaches and only 700 feet from your front door.. Ocean waters are made for swimming and building sand castles as the result of the large sand bar off-shore which protects Whalehead Beach. Additionally, we have a first class Beach Patrol, on duty seven days a week, a new boardwalk at the beach access makes getting to the beach even easier!

For extra adventure, you can take a tour or a beach drive north to Carova (4-wheel drive required) to visit our herd of wild Spanish horses. GOLF- Bring your clubs or rent them at the prestigious Currituck Club, designed by Rees Jones. The Currituck Club is ranked among the best Coastal courses in America, stretching from the Ocean to the Sound. The course contains a driving range, practice green, pro shop, golf clinics and Junior Golf Schools each week taught by PGA instructors. It's an experience to brag to your golf buddies about.

We always enjoy our stay at the Outer Banks. Good location, close to Food Lion and shops and very close to the 4x4 beach.

Very comfortable and inviting home

We had a great time at Mellow Yellow for a family vacation. The house is extremely comfortable, with roomy family spaces and great private balconies and nooks so we could have some alone time when we needed it. The kitchen and bathrooms were generously stocked which we appreciated so we didn’t have to buy every little thing a vacation requires. We enjoyed the balconies, billiards, the pool and hot tub and very short walk to the beach. We appreciated the hospitality and great service as well as a lovely, comfortable home. Thank you!

Lovely house

The house was lovely and we had a wonderful time, but am being told I am not getting my full deposit back due to stains on the carpet, though there were no stains at all.

House was very clean, nicely appointed, and included lots of amenities that other properties don't. My family (of 4) had more than adequate space, and the house could have easily accommodated one or even two more families. My children (10-yo & 9-yo) especially loved the game room with the pool table. Location to the beach access walkway was terrific. Pool / hot tub were great and we used every day. And it was nice that there were beach toys / boogie boards / beach cart etc. for us to use.I highly recommend Mellow Yellow to anyone looking to visit Corolla. We have been staying at properties on Whalehead Dr. each summer for 9-years running, and this was our favorite property thusfar! We look forward to returning next year.

Overall a very nice house

The house overall is great...clean, great location to beach and shopping. The living room furniture is a bit tired and, if we actually had 8 in our party, there would not be enough comfortable seating in the living room. That being said, we enjoyed our time at Mellow Yellow.

It was so nice being so close to the beach & the pool & hot tub where a huge hit! The outdoor showers made it so easy for us to wash up after a long day of being outdoors. We also really enjoyed the game room for some quality family time. I feel like the property is priced just right considering the location & amenities. The owner touched base Sunday to make sure everything was up to our standards, which was really thoughtful. One thing I suggest is getting new beach chairs as the ones at the property were rusted out. This wasn't an issue for us since we brought our own, but just for future for guests who don't bring chairs or need a few to borrow. My kids were so sad when we left! Thank you Mellow Yellow owners & Carolina Shores for making our vacation one to remember!

Great Place

Great location. Lots of amenities. Great porch. The bed mattresses are awful...every adult had issues to the point that we almost purchased a mattress pad and would have had we thought of it sooner! And I'm 5'3" 120 pounds...I feel so bad for the hubbies that were with us! Beach is super close and beautiful. The pool was perfect. Lots of pool toys and rafts. Even boogies boards! The game room with pool table was a complete hit! The kitchen had tons of serving utensils and pots and pans to use. There IS a full washer and dryer in the unit, and a coffee maker. No toaster, but there is a toaster oven.

Great location, but too many issues while on vacation.

The Property Management company was courteous and responsive to all of the issues that I had to report almost daily. I am not someone that enjoys wasting time complaining especially while on vacation, but some of the issues that we were dealing with needed to be addressed so that my family could enjoy their time away considering it only occurs one time a year. Between the ants in the home, the leaking ceiling in the master bedroom, broken washer, and grill that we could not use; I’d recommend some much-needed TLC go into this home for future guests.

This was a great house for grandparents, parents and pre teens. There was room for everyone, lots of decks, and a reading nook. Beach only a short walk away and plenty of places of interest. Pool and pool table added to the fun.

Great Family Vacation Home

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found Mellow Yellow to be a wonderful family vacation setting. The location to the beach, private pool,and location on the Outerbanks was exactly what we were looking for in order to unplug from the busyness of life. The house is well maintained and had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. There is a reading library and games for family entertainment along with a pool table. Plenty of deck space for enjoying the daily sunrise and sunset.

Had a fun time

We have never stayed anywhere we had such a fully equipped household. This property is slightly dated and does need some TLC however we would recommend it and would stay here again
