If you have to stay somewhere near the Redwood Forest, Oceanfront Lodge is ok. Our room was not clean but not filthy. There was a lot of noise and especially doors slamming. Our room was ground floor (we did not request that) and the view was the grass covered berm at the back of the hotel, muddy windows and other guest walking by. The dining room smelled as if beer had been spilled and never cleaned up. We chose NOT to eat in the hotel restaurant. If you can find another hotel, perhaps even outside Crescent City, I would suggest it.

Beach front was great for kids. Easy access to restaurants. Property restaurant was not open very often due to slow time of year.

Hey Can You Guys Be More Upfront?

For two dogs wow that doubled the price of the hotel room. would be nice if they mentioned that on the website! You can't beat the neat location next to the battery lighthouse though. We were the suckers who booked the 'partial oceanview king jacuzzi suite' which sounded amazing but when we checked in the front desk guy informed us it had one tiny window of some grass on the ground floor and no beachview at all, not even partial...and were we OK with that...but of course none of the better rooms were available so not like we had a choice to upgrade to a view. The room was adequate like the budget price (well budget till they doubled it with the $100 pet fee) expected it to be! Laminate flooring poorly laid down and popping up a big mud smear on the futon and a buttress mattress. That being said I'd def stay here again because being next to that lighthouse, there's nothing cooler!

Great location, clean room, pool/hot tub area didn't feel super clean and also a lot of young kids in there even after 10. My main issue was front desk and conveniences. Feont desk lady took two long calls while i was trying to check in, obviously exhausted from drive, and the small area to buy snacks/wine was closed any time i checked it.

I loved the room, the hot tub was incredible! Having it in the room in the comfort of privacy was amazing. The view of the ocean and hearing the ocean theoughout the night was incredible. We will definitely be back, soon!
