STRANDS BEACH DANA POINT (California Beach Retreat - Near Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel, Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach and Laguna Beach.

LOCATION
As you pull off of Pacific Coast Highway on to our palm lined street, you have the ocean to the right and our condominium complex, Niguel Beach Terrace, on the left. At this point you are 'steps' away from the Strands Beach at Salt Creek Beach Park.

This area of Dana Point with it prominent coastal bluffs, is also known as The Headlands and is part of what is referred to as the 'Gold Coast' or 'California Riviera'. With Laguna Beach to the north and San Clemente to the south, our California Beach Retreat is the ideal location for your Southern CA visit. You are central to all of Southern California! 60 miles from Los Angeles International Airport and 60 miles from Sea World in San Diego.

Sixty-eight miles to Universal Studios Hollywood, 33 miles to Disneyland Resort, 25 miles to John Wayne Airport, 5 miles to Laguna Beach, 5 miles to Mission San Juan Capistrano, 80 miles to Tijuana Mexico!

BEACH
The Strands Beach is actually the Southern portion of the Salt Creek Beach Park. It is a highly regarded surfing beach that consistently rates an A+ in water quality. It is not unusual to see dolphins or an occasional sea lion while visiting the beach. This is the same beach that guests from the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel and The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach use.

OUR BEACH HOME
First let me say this, 'We Love this Place!' Every time we visit we feel as though we are away on a vacation. That being said, we set out to transform this place into our our ultimate Beach Home. We were fortunate to have a professional designer in the family to guide us through an extensive renovation of our Beach House. The end result is a warm, comfortable feel where 'coastal elements' abound.

LIVING ROOM
Entering this upper unit you will see floors with a beechwood look throughout, counter-tops with seafoam colored granite, glass tiles with the iridescence of abalone shells. Vaulted ceilings with recessed lighting and plantation shutters give you the ability to control the abundant natural lighting. Ceiling fans and an open floor plan integrate the kitchen with the living room.

A large deck adjacent to the kitchen and the master bedroom accommodates the gas barbeque. Adjacent to the living room area is another large deck with a small table and seating. Large sliding patio doors access each deck. Rounding out the living room is a queen size sleeper sofa, a large LED Smart TV and a music player for our CD library or your iPhone. Several DVD titles are available for your enjoyment.

GUEST BEDROOM
Next is the guest bedroom and bathroom. This large room also has vaulted ceilings with recessed lighting, a queen size bed with pillow top mattress, a designer ceiling fan, shutters and very good natural lighting. A large sliding patio door accesses the South facing deck. A Smart LED TV and a clock radio are provided. The bathroom features a glass tile lined shower, frame-less glass shower door, limestone floors, granite counter-tops and a tumbled marble back splash.

MASTER BEDROOM
The master bedroom has vaulted ceilings, a king size canopy bed, designer fan, recessed lighting, a 44' LED Smart TV, clock radio, a large sliding patio door with access to the East facing deck. This large room has connected master bathroom with a glass tile lined shower, limestone flooring, granite counter-tops, tumbled marble back splash and a vanity area with seating. We believe this is the largest bathroom in the Niguel Beach Terrace complex.

KITCHEN
The kitchen was designed to integrate with the main living areas. From the kitchen you will be able to view both decks and be fully involved in any conversation taking place in the living room. Quality appliances, well equipped with most every detail provided.

Perfect Apartment

This is a great apartment. We had an amazing holiday in Dana Point and this was the perfect base to come back to everyday. It looks just as the photos show and has everything you can need to make it comfortable. Great location to Strands Beach (my favourite) and walkable to some of the restaurants at the top end of PCH. Robert was easy to contact and responded promptly when needed. We had a great holiday and definitely hope to return.

Great beach condo

We stayed in this condo for the month of July. We were so comfortable and enjoyed our stay so much. When you open all the doors and windows, there’s a delightful breeze throughout. The owner, Robert, was attentive to our questions and was responsive when needed. This condo is well stocked and a great place to vacation.

Great Location, Great Place, Great Hosts

We often stay at different VRBOs and this one really stood out. From check in to check out the hosts were welcoming, considerate and extremely prompt in replying to our texts. The place is in a great location and it was fully stocked with virtually everything you would ever need. The kitchen was especially set up perfectly and even though we travel with a large kitchen kit we didn’t need it. We felt right at home, everything was comfortable and well organized . It also provided one of the best television options. We will certainly make this our go-to place when we visit Southern CA again.

Wonderful Property in Convenient Location

We really enjoyed our time in Dana Point these past three months, as an escape from our cold winters in Michigan. The property is up to date, very comfortable, clean and well stocked. We really enjoyed the balconies, which were bright and sunny. We also enjoyed the access to the ocean and trails, which allowed us to enjoy beautiful views and get a little exercise at the same time. We would definitely recommend this little piece of paradise.

Very Upgraded Accommodations

This was our second stay in this condo (each 2 months in duration). It is a nicely upgraded unit and is very bright. We've had other units in the same complex that are original and/or dark, and they just don't compare to this one. The owners are accommodating and reasonable. This location is fantastic as it is close to beach, harbor and downtown Dana Point. The Lantern District in Dana Point is being completely rebuilt and should continue to improve over time. The pool and spa in this complex are excellently designed and are positioned to shelter you from the wind - as a result they can be used even on cooler days. Overall an excellent experience.

A perfect location; A beautiful home away from home.

This is our second rental in the area and this one was perfect. Ernie & Robert have done a beautiful job of caring for your arrival and stay. You'll find everything you need in the kitchen, all kinds of amenities for the beach (boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas) and the most beautiful beach and bath towels. The decorating is new, homey, happy, crisp and uncluttered. We took advantage of the beach, trails and trolleys...and there are few better places to admire a sunset. Enjoy!

Mostly OK

Our reasons for the 3 star review are basically for quite a few "little" things. Not enough living room furniture when we have guests and it was a bit uncomfortable as well. Only 3 tall glasses (plastic ones were available to bring to pool but I don't like to drink out of plastic). No Tupperware containers or cleaning supplies...we bought our own toilet brush. The grill doesn't work very well and was not cleaned prior to our arrival. The washing machine would go out of balance with almost every load. One of the small wooden deck chairs broke a seat spoke when we sat on it. The vacuum cleaner didn't work so we replaced the belt. Being a 2 month renter, these things are important to us and I'm sure can be easily rectified by the owners.
