Disappointing Experience

First they gave me the wrong room then after a conversation, they said they will make my original room ready for tomorrow. Then they put me in a temporary with moulded ceiling. I don’t know how they are allowed to rent a room with that much mould. I have asthma and it is not even good for a healthy person. Finally they gave me the correct room the next day. And the room order was terrible. 4 pcs of not fully cooked and crispy chicken wings with a small bowl of fries and 2 small ginger ale costed me €26 and it wasn’t hood at all. I am really dissatisfied with the hotel. They don’t even have a decent computer in case someone needs yo access one. The connection was terrible. I waited 20 minutes for the browser to open which never did. Finally I went to central library and accessed one.

Nice, simple hotel in the heart of old town.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city and is writhing close walking distance of most of the sights in the old city. Amazing views of the castle! Breakfast was so convenient and good. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but with a window cracked open and a supplied oscillating fan on the sill, we were very comfortable. Bed was comfy. Staff was always helpful with any questions or assistance needed.

Great Location

Perfect location. Short walk to the Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, many shops and eating locations. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was wonderful. The many steps in the restaurant, reception/front desk, and the pool/spa areas pose a serious accessibility challenge for people with mobility issues.

The Apex Grassmarket Hotel was in the perfect location, with everything I wanted to see being less than a 10 minute walk away. There are plenty of dining options and shops right outside the front door. The staff was extremely kind and had our room ready early. I highly recommend this property if you wanting to stay in the heart of Edinburgh.

A number of issues with our room. Windows did not stay open unless propped by something....Shower was very slippery and no rubber mat...also stepping out of the tub was not safe. Carpeting was all bubbled up...We stayed at the one in Bath, England which this spectacular...this one needs a renovation

Another great stay at an Apex Hotel. Located in a historic area where everything is close by… restaurants, pubs and your view of Edinburgh Castle is amazing. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The location is convenient to most Edinburgh attractions and restaurants. It has a very good breakfast buffet. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly and helpful. There was a kettle with a nice selection of coffee/tea/cocoa, as well as a mini fridge. Note that there is no air conditioning, which might be an issue during summer months - there was just a fan on one of the nightstands. It was a little uncomfortable the first night or two. Could also have used another towel rack, and a stepstool to get into the tub/shower.

Another lovely stay at Apex Grassmarket

Really enjoyed our stay at Apex Grassmarket. Beautiful rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff. However, first time we stayed there in August and it was really noisy from the bar/smoking area? below and from the laundry crates early morning (we were at the back of the hotel). Some better double glazing would help or ear plugs in the room. The other times we’ve stayed there wasn’t the same issue but appreciate that it’s not the hotel’s fault extra noise due to the Fringe.

We will choose Apex G again

Ideally located to explore the city’s attractions. Our room faced the castle and it was an amazing view, but the street below was noisy unless we closed the windows, which made the room hot. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby Very helpful staff Pool was good for the kids and sauna for the grown ups Breakfast was great and restaurant plus a nice bar plus outdoor area in the back to relax and drink Within walking distance of E Waverley station but taxi was under £10.
