Riad Mazar Fes is an oasis of calm and incredible beauty. The owner Hamid and staff were so kind and welcoming, giving us a tour of the exquisite palace (that’s honestly what it feels like) upon arrival, serving us delicious mint tea and breakfasts, and making helpful recommendations. We also dined in the Riad our first night and it was the best meal we’d had in Morocco. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet and every bit as beautifully, intricately decorated as the courtyards. We loved waking up in the mornings to the gentle sounds of water in the fountain in the courtyard below. I don’t know if the photos of this place could ever do justice to how beautiful it is. Thank you to everyone at Riad Mazar for your genuine kindness and hospitality. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We are reasonably well travelled people and we can say that we are officially in love with Morocco and with Fez. We have never been so impressed by a place to stay as we were with Riad Mazar Fez. The location is ideal as it is close to the Blue Gate and Medina, the building is stunningly beautiful and the tastefully decorated rooms have all the conveniences that one needs. But most of all, it’s the people running this place who make it so special. A big Thankyou to Mr Khalid, Ms Weeham, Mr Yasin, and all the staff for making our stay here truly memorable. The breakfast was so delicious and we felt right at home. We can’t wait to be back!!!

I had the most amazing time! The Riad was lovingly restored with great attention to every detail from the cedar and plaster to the zelige and artwork. The staff is warm and inviting and helpful. The common areas and rooms are meticulously clean. The breakfast was delicious and made fresh in the Riad kitchen. The tour guides they recommended were top notch. This may have been the finest Riad/hotel in which I’ve had the pleasure of staying. A big thank you to everyone working there. I appreciated all your efforts to ensure my stay was pleasant.

Such a beautiful place. Conveniently located at the edge of the Medina so you can arrive by car. The staff is very courteous and helpful, they arranged a guide for us on the first day, made last minute restaurant reservations and recomended a cooking class at a nearby Riad. They even prepared a bagged breakfast for us as we left very early. All in all a great stay!

Beautiful Riad, the detail of the property is amazing. The staff was very helpful and has amazing food. Rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The road to Medina is less than the 5 minutes away. No complaints, will definitely stay there again.

The Riad its self is absolutely beautiful with amazing details as nice as any other special site we visited in Morocco. We had excursions and flights that left before the breakfast and they went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated. They were checking in to make sure we had drivers and dinner reservations. Everything was wonderful. Thank you. Highly recommend.

The owner and staff at this beautiful RIAD are all in on providing a wonderful service for their guests. From the traditional Moroccan decor to the sumptuous breakfasts to the recommendations for where to go and what to see, they did it all with a smile. The Riad is absolutely beautiful, Masha’Allah! Aesthetically stunning and filled with antiques that reflect deep pride and love for Moroccan culture. It’s one of the most tastefully decorated Riads we’ve stayed in and truly captures the charm of Morocco. One of the main reasons for staying at a Riad is to experience Moroccan hospitality, and overall, this place delivered beautifully. The lady at check-in was very sweet and communicated well from the time we booked, but I didn’t appreciate her insistence on negating our pre-arranged tour. We had chosen a tip-based tour, and she strongly suggested using her $30 option instead. The two gentlemen on the night shift were amazing. They offered us a plate and knife for oranges from the common area. Older gentleman (possibly owner), said “Please, this is your home,” and younger one served us Moroccan tea with a smile, free of charge. They truly reflected Moroccan warmth and kindness. What surprised me was being charged 25 dirhams for tea the next day. I didn’t mind paying, but consistency in policies would be appreciated. There was also no iron available. Since Morocco is a Muslim country with many Muslim visitors, I was also surprised they only had one prayer mat when we requested two. Prayer mats should be readily available, as it’s a simple way to make Muslim guests feel at home. Overall, the Riad is stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff are kind. Just a few small improvements would make the experience perfect.
