There was absolutely no storage in the rooms, couldn't hang any clothes out of the suitcase. The pool with the swim up bar should be adults only. Beach was beautiful and well kept.

We loved our stay at The Island. We paid extra for a room with a view and it was worth the extra money for us. We had terrific view of the gulf. Walking to the beach was quick and easy. I will recommend this hotel. They are doing construction on portion of the gulf side rooms, but that did not bother us one bit. I can only assume we got one of the newly renovated rooms and i think it was great. Only suggestion i would have is maybe offer a $5 discount card for the chair rentals on the beach. We did not use many of amenities that come with paying the resort fee/higher cost per night. Offering the discount probably would have persuaded us to sit on the beach.

Don’t stay here unless you want double charged!

Small rooms. No bathtub. The showers only have half a door. Sand in the bed sheets. And that’s just the beginning. We were charged $60 for “lunch” at the resort. We never ate there. We purchased a package with breakfast included and that was a total waste! The breakfast “buffet” is tiny not really a buffet, it’s not much of anything. And to top it alllll off I was charged DOUBLE for resort fees and parking! It wa supposed to come already included with my package and they refused to take it off!! $200 in extra charges for 3 days.

This property has a great location because it sits right on the water and is just outside Destin which can be a nightmare during the busy season. They have a multiply pools and a large water fall feature at one of the pools. They are under going maintenance on several rooms(its there off season). We stayed on second floor in building facing the gulf. The property is older but they have modernized and are in the middle of modernizing the property. They could upgrade entry doors to rooms because you can hear everyone in the hall. Pricing is just right. Staff did a great job in upgrading our room after I reminded them of Expedia's VIP status. Just make sure you ask about additional fee's because some of these third party websites like to not highlight these additional fees in there websites, like parking and resort fees. So when you check in they will remind you of this. So always check fine print or you will get sticker shock upon checking in. But overall great experience.

This was our first time at this resort. It was absolutely amazing. The staff is super friendly. Very clean and smells amazing. Super clean. The rooms are beautiful everything is simply perfect and we will be back
