Beautiful rural location

Peaceful farmhouse
Publié le 16 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayOur family of two adults and two children loved our stay at Shepherds Rest. The mountain views are beautiful, the beds were cozy and we had everything we needed from kitchen supplies to puzzles and toys. It was a perfect base for taking the Jacobite train!

Scotland for 2 weeks
Publié le 28 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayDriving threw the tunnel was a hoot and a bit scary the first time. It was well located to the canal, the train, and the mountain. We enjoyed our stay. What would have helped: explanation on the heating system, maybe a book on what is around to see, and the games didn't have directions and were in a box that was different than the board. The fireplace was lovely but didn't know where to get wood.

Stunning walks straight from the door. We had an amazing week, the dogs were permanently tired with all the walks and swimming. The property was one of the most well equipped we have stayed in.

Charming accommodations, scary tunnel
Publié le 2 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe loved Ilona and the pooches. The house was great. The tunnel could be one of the scariest 5 minutes of our lives. The location is a wee bit off the beaten path, but everything else was terrific.

Off the beaten path; looking at Ben Nevis.

Clean; quiet; having a one bathroom for us and a second bathroom for the kids is very helpful. The eating area looks right at Ben Nevis. Check-in was simple; and the owner/host was very helpful and easy to deal with. The home is probably 4-5 miles from the commercial center of Fort William, so you likely need a car to stay here (which we had) or be willing to taxi. I certainly would recommend it.
