Wonderful hotel on the canal. Rooms over a restaurant (but make reservations for the restaurat). Short walk toi the historic center of Franker, plenty of excellent restuarats in the square and surrounding streets. Older property but wih modern ammenities. Free parking a few blocks away. Wonderful breakfast.

The rooms are dated and not maintained. Service is excellent.

Basic accommodation, fabulous food!
Posted May 24, 2019 on HotelsWe arrived in the area late in the day and booked the room with very little input. It turned out to be in a very old building. The furnishings were basic but it was clean and provided everything we required. The staff was very acccommodating and arranged a dinner reservation for us despite the later hour in the hotel diningroom.. The meal was outstanding. We couldn't have asked for better. Overall it was a positive experience.

We booked through hotel.com and quoted €97.50 to be paid to the hotel. On checking out the receptionist gave us a bill for €170. After much discussion it was reduced to €120. I furthered argued that I should only be paying what I was quoted by hotel.com but the receptionist refused. I asked to see the owner/manager who attended and agreed I only had to pay the hotel.com quote much to my relief. The owner was very helpful and understanding.
