Hideaway Villa - quiet, spacious in unique landscaped gardens with golf green

Experience ultimate privacy in our amazing detached home, surrounded by lovely countryside close to the friendly village of Frenaros. Enjoy our large pool and sociable, stone-built barbecue area, try your hand at golf on our pitch-and-putt green, and play pickleball or badminton on the purpose-built court. Stroll around the orchard and olive grove, or relax on the huge patio. All this, and you’re still only a 20 minute drive away from the beaches and restaurants of Ayia Napa and Protaras.

We designed our home to be welcoming and comfortable, and it’s crammed full of unique design features, many of which were built using natural stone from the garden! We want it to be your home from home, with a touch of luxury.

The kitchen is huge and well-equipped, with a breakfast bar, eye-level double-oven, fabulous slate extractor hood, and beautiful granite worktops. There is a dishwasher, large American-style fridge-freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and all the pots, pans, tools and crockery you can think of.

The spacious, open-plan living/dining room features a 55-inch smart TV with Netflix, large dining table and sofa area, grand fireplace and quirky bar area - channel your inner cocktail waiter and have fun mixing drinks for your friends and family (bring your own drinks!)!

There is free Wi-Fi Internet throughout the main kitchen/living/dining areas.

There are two ensuite bedrooms - Bedroom 1 is upstairs and has a double bed. It opens onto a large balcony, from which you can walk down the outside stairs and straight into the pool area. The bathroom features a roomy walk-in, rain-head shower, natural stone washbasin and Greek mythology wall art.

Bedroom 2, also ensuite, is downstairs next to the other bedrooms. It has a double bed, and opens onto a large, leafy terrace area, from which you have direct access to the orchard and pool. The bathroom features a roomy walk-in, rain-head shower, stunning glass washbasin and Greek mythology wall art.

Bedroom 3 is downstairs with a double bed, and Bedroom 4 has two single beds, and both of these have blackout blinds. These two rooms share a bathroom, which has a stylish bathtub with bath and shower taps. The glass washbasin echoes the Greek
mythology scene featured in the evocative wall art.

All bedrooms have bedside tables with bedside lights, generous wardrobe space, vanity mirrors with overhead lighting, ceiling fans and air conditioning. All rooms have fly-screens.

We have several outdoor lounge and dining areas – just outside the kitchen is a lovely breakfast/snack area, where you are shaded by the extensive grapevine and almost always fanned by a cool breeze.

Outside the living/dining area are two comfortable lounge areas and main outdoor dining table. These all overlook the pool.

Our extensive outdoor area has oceans of space and areas for socialising, or escaping for some quiet me-time. We have a beautiful 11 x 5m overflow swimming pool set in a huge slate-paved patio area, where there are enough sunbeds for everyone.

The poolside, stone-built circular barbecue area is a unique feature of this property – designed for guests to sit and chat with the person tending the barbecue while the food cooks. From there it’s just a few steps up to the main outdoor dining area, where everyone can tuck into the freshly-grilled food.

Practise your golf swing on our pitch and putt golf green! At 25 metres from tee to green, it’s short enough for beginners – yet still a challenge for experienced golfers. We provide all balls and clubs.

If you’re sporty, you will love the astroturf pickleball/badminton court, which of course comes with a net and all the equipment you will need. Never played pickleball (the fastest growing sport in America!)? Don’t worry! It’s easy, great fun, and we provide a full guide.

Behind the pool is our beautiful ‘Tree of Idleness’ area, a tranquil green space wrapped around a 200-year-old olive tree. There are marble benches on which to relax, and it’s also a perfect space for yoga or meditation.

Another great place for relaxation is the ‘Dragon Grove’, where you can sit among the mulberry trees and be soothed by the gentle splashing of the marble fountain decorated with carved dragons.

An unusual highlight is the ‘Archipelago’ – a set of lovely floral islands, on one of which rests ‘The Shipwreck’. We also have a sculpture garden, decorated with unusual sculptures from around the world.

Stroll around our organic olive grove, orchard and vegetable garden, where you’re welcome to help yourself to fruit and vegetables – in summer, these can be passionfruit, grapes, figs, peaches, apricots, nectarines, apples, tomatoes and peppers.

There is plenty of private, off-street car parking beside the house.

Hideaway Villa is a 3-minute drive from the village of Frenaros, where there are several Cypriot bars and restaurants to choose from. It is a 20-minute drive to Ayia Napa, 30 minutes to Protaras and 45 minutes to Larnaca Airport. The villa is very well-placed for exploring, but we recommend that you hire a car in order to get the best out of your holiday.

Your hosts will visit the property twice a week for garden maintenance and watering, and are also on-call for you, and happy to help with any issues or questions you may have.

The garage and home office are locked and used for storage by the owner. All unlocked rooms/cupboards are free for guests to use.

We have a beehive! Don’t worry, it’s nowhere near the house or pool, and the bees won’t bother you. It’s also in a securely fenced-off area to prevent accidental disturbance by children. And your hosts will be more than happy to give you a ‘beehive tour’ – guests tend to find this a fascinating and enriching experience.
