Located in the East End Historic District and built in 1892 The Happy House has been fully refurbished. A central location full of historic charm appointed with all the modern amenities to make your stay something to remember! Kids and adults love this fun and beautifully decorated home. The white picket fence, original louvered shutters, copper New Orleans gas lanterns and hand gilded house numbers accentuate this homes charm. Walk to top restaurants and shopping. Gorgeous brick paved courtyard with market lights and gorgeous custom copper lanterns. A perfect retreat for a weekend getaway to shop on the Strand or soak up the sun on the beach. Also available for or those needing a longer stay in Galveston we are available for month or longer bookings. So pack your bags and if you want to bring your pup bring their crate and have a very happy stay at The Happy House.

All guests and pets must be listed at time of booking so that we can prepare the home with enough supplies for your stay. $100 Pet fee is mandatory with exception of service animals.

You'll love the old hardwood floors, large historic windows and tall ceilings. The home has curtains and shades for privacy, high-speed internet, and central air/heat. A fully stocked kitchen is available in the event you would like to stay in and dine. We offer a Keurig hot/iced coffee maker along with coffee and teas. Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ are available for your enjoyment. The 55" LG TV and 43" Roku TV provides access to other popular apps available with your own login credentials.
**Pet fee is $100 for 1 dog. This covers the additional preparation of the home for your pet and the additional cleaning. A portion is donated to Galveston Humane Society.
**Cleaning fee includes bed linens and towels for every guest, as well as additional sanitizing protocols. Essential toiletries are provided as well as laundry items in case you would like to go home with clean clothes. All quilts/duvets/comforters are washed after EVERY guest!

Great property and owner was kind enough to let me arrive a little early. Owner has house well supplied and thought of everything. Loved this house so much that I found myself shopping for a little “shotgun” floorplan of my own. It was just me but this would be a great house for a family. I stayed at the Galvez hotel the week before but “Happy House” was 100 times better IMO!!! I am a picky guest
 so a 5 star is hard to get from me. My only issue was a little stale odor at first but we gotta keep in mind this is 130 year old house!!! It wasn’t noticeable after the first day. Love this house and will definitely be back!!!

We loved this property and the delightful host was amazing and super responsive to any questions we had. I slept in the green room bed and it was so nice and not a hard mattress! It’s located at a great spot if you want to shoot to the seawall and go to the beach or shoot the opposite way and head to the strand! Thank you for the wonderful stay and all the attentive features! The little touches all around the house are so cute and well thought of.

History is just a pedal way!

The bikes provided by the host are a must! We easily pedaled to the sea wall and along it to take in the sights and read the benches (history) along the way. We easily pedaled to The Strand, Post Office Street, & Market street, just blocks away, to wander into gift shops, antiques stores, and breweries. The Bishop Palace tour was amazing. Just riding through the neighborhood was such a history lesson. The patio was a welcome sight after riding and the beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood has plenty of little places to eat. Try Skykatz for breakfast. Thank you again!

Beautiful home and a great value!

We loved our stay and will definitely be returning to this perfect little place again! The decor was lovely, cleanliness top notch, and location was ideal. Everything we needed and more was provided. The kitchen is excellently stocked with everything you need to cook delicious meals and amazing restaurants were so close by, if cooking isn’t your thing. Spotless bathroom with the thoughtful touches of toiletries provided was also much appreciated. Relaxing in the patio area at night with the soft lighting of the lanterns was dreamy and felt very private. The neighborhood was calm and quiet, making us feel right at home. Can’t wait to come back!

Great little house in the old part of Galveston. We loved the little courtyard. Walkable to the Strand and the Beach. The cottage is small, but we'll laid out, so plenty of room for my wife and me and our two teenagers!

Relaxing Stay in Galveston

The house instructions were great. Upon arriving the home was nicer in person than in pictures which says a lot. It is gorgeous inside and out. We have stayed at quite a few homes over the years and this one was the BEST stocked home by far. Comfortable and clean, we can't wait to make staying here a summer family tradition.

Book this house

This was our second time to stay in this house. We highly recommend it. It is very clean, feels like home, and a great location. It has all the kitchen appliances, toiletries, washer/dryer and beach gear. I do not have babies in cribs anymore; however, I noticed she had a pack n play that you can use. The master bedroom is very roomy and comfortable and the kids' room can sleep up to 4 kids. This house is located in a lovely neighborhood that we took many walks through. We walked to The Strand almost every night and its about a 2 minute drive to the beach. The host is very responsive and personalizes your stay. She even left a happy birthday banner and cupcakes from a local bakery for our daughter's birthday. If you're thinking about booking this house, just do it, you wont be disappointed.

30th Birthday Trip

After a long drive into a Galveston and a full afternoon at the beach it was a pleasure to drive up to such a cozy place to stay. My siblings and I were very pleased to find such a sweet welcoming home to spend the night in. The Happy House was exactly as advertised! We planned to go back out to explore a bit but the home was just so inviting we stayed in and enjoy a night of movies. So happy we found this little gem in Galveston! Any trip we make out again we are for sure looking to stay here. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home!

Great House with everything needed!

I stayed here with my husband and two kids. This house was a great fit for us. My kids loved having their own beds. We had plenty of space. I really appreciated all the little things that are available at the house so we didn’t have to pack them. Items very helpful to us were the beach gear (towels, wagon, chairs, umbrella, cooler, sand toys, boogie boards), laundry basket, extra ice trays, etc. The house was very clean. It looks just like the pictures. We didn’t need to contact the host much (because we had everything we needed) but she was always quick to respond. We would stay here again!

Perfect location

From beginning to end, property owner was always in contact with us making the whole process extremely easy. The house upon arrival was clean and just a perfect little house for me, the wife and 2 teenage daughters. My friend and I stayed at the Happy House for a long weekend. We brought my dog Cali Jo with us and the house was all set up and ready for Cali Jo’s arrival! The house is pretty small but was perfect for the 3 of us. Sara was responsive throughout the booking process and she even left bagels in the fridge as a nice welcome! We were able to walk to the beach (within a mile) and were in the heart of the historic downtown. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The Happy House was perfect!

Everything was great! All the supplies, the games, the furniture, it was perfect. So comfortable. Loved the neighborhood. It was a beautiful home. Great location. Not too far from everything. Really enjoyed every part of our stay at The Happy House. Amazing thing is that Happy is my word. So yes, that house was meant for me.

Great birthday getaway

The Happy House is a terrific. It is in the historic area of Galveston which makes it even more charming . The furnishings and beds are comfy, and the kitchen and bathroom are stocked with the essentials. It was a perfect house for a weekend birthday celebration. I definitely would recommend to friends and family.

Wonderful!

House is charming and beautifully decorated. The outdoor patio is peaceful and lovely. Location is in the heart of the historic strand district close to shopping and restaurants. Not only is it beautiful, It is also extremely well equipped!! From bottled water in the fridge, all the coffee supplies you need, extra toiletries, you might have forgotten, there’s even a basket of toys and puzzles for small children in the bedroom cabinet! Love this rental!

So Great

We stayed during December and enjoyed walking around looking at lights, the parade and the Nutcracker at the Opera House! Everything is so close. The property is super cute and cozy with all that you need. The Christmas decor was a special touch we really loved The weather was 70 Degrees so we went to the beach and the house had all the stuff for the kids. We even rode the bikes.đŸŽ„đŸ â˜€ïž
