Constructed in the fall of 2014, this lake front property rental is located off the Glenn Highway, nestled in the small community of Nelchina, on Schooner Lake (*Approximately 45 miles from Glennallen). Offering spectacular views of the Chugach Mountains, it makes the perfect place for vacationing, weekend getaways, and/or longer term rental. Although techincally only one bedroom, this place offers a spacious 800 sq. feet of living space on one story. Even with a King sized bed, the large bedroom features a closet, couch, and a convenient built in washer/dryer with room to spare! Between the deck and South facing windows, renters are able to capitalize on all the natural sunlight with the lake and mountain views.
Enjoy a private bathroom with a shower/tub combo, vanity, and toilet. The open floor plan also boasts a full sized kitchen with maple cabinets that flows right into the main living room. **Please note that the closest grocery store is in Glennallen or Palmer, so stock up BEFORE getting to the rental as there are NO food options in Nelchina! The nearest restaurant is Eureka Roadhouse which is about a 20 mile drive from the rental.
To access the apartment, enter through a nice custom wood entryway ideal for hanging gear with enough bonus space for a double bed to accomodate extra guests (right off the livingroom). Schooner Lake is a host to an abundant source of wildlife including migrating birds (swans, ducks, loons, eagles, etc.) and the occasional moose, bear, coyote, fox, muskrat, beaver, and caribou. Enjoy direct access to this lake for canoeing, swimming, frog catching, bird/wildlife watching, cross country skiing, and snow-machining among other things . Also, if your adventurous, a short hike around the lake provides a spectacular view overlooking the Nelchina River from on top of the bluff
