I booked Novotel Surfers Paradise and included the breakfast. The first two days I got breakfast as they found me in system. In my last day, they could not find me in system. Still they gave me breakfast and mentioned that at the time of checkout they won’t charge. But still they charged me $84 for two and mentioned that I have to pay as I am not in system. They could have mentioned earlier that they will charge me and I would have not taken brekkie and would have gone out. I was pretty disappointed with the behaviour of the receptionist too.

It’s good to see the hotel is undergoing renovations, it’s a bit dated - but it’s clean, and that’s what matters most to me. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the beds are comfortable. All the staff were friendly, and I was happy to have a smooth check-in, unlike our last visit. It’s in a great location, with the beach, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and the light rail at your doorstep. I highly recommend this hotel.

Bed on wheels so when you say on it the bed ended up on the either side of the room. The phone didn't work in the room and when I told the reception they said someone would fix it. No one did. Lipstick on the coffee mugs in the room, so these had not be cleaned. People next door smoking on balcony. Was ignored for 10 mins at the bar area when I wanted to get something.

Learned a lesson not to book when hotel is under construction and within the centre. The noise was terrible to have a good rest adding the night time loud music and shouting that can still be heard in the 23rd floor of the room until the early hours of the morning. Aside from that, the hotel is conveniently located where the beach and amenities are and the hotel itself is immaculate with the lovely and friendly staff and cleaners.
