Amazingly beautiful but no service if needed

The hotel, the rooms and the view are absolutely breathtaking. If you're looking for peace, quiet and beauty this is it. The reasons my rating isn't 5 stars are as follows. Hotels.com says this is 6 miles from Bar Harbor. This is true as the crow flies but that is by boat. It is a 50-minute drive, however. I felt betrayed at first but the I fell in love with the place. I wanted dinner when I got there and dining within driving distance was scarce. It was very hot for the area and there was a portable a/c in the room, however it was not vented out (could not be vented out those kind of windows). Not realizing this, I turned it on and went to watch the sunset. The room was almost 90 degrees when I got back. It was blowing cold air out the front and VERY hot air out the back. Also, the very small ice machine was broken and full of water. Since the only staff we saw the whole visit was the person putting out breakfast at 7am there was no recourse and no way to get any ice or cool air in my room. Luckily it was cool enough and beautiful enough that I sat outside for another hour with the room windows open and the fan on high until it was cool enough in there to fall asleep.

We enjoyed our stay and the spectacular views. The cabin was cozy and well kept. The staff was very responsive and polite. My suggestions would be for a small microwave (couldn't reheat leftovers), comfortable chair inside the cabin and maybe an inside door lock to secure the door. Enjoyed Bar Harbor and small venues locally.

Beautiful quiet location close to the area of Acadia we wanted to visit. I was unable to use my chair at dining table. There was bolt missing. I reported it and didn’t worry about it since short trip. But the noticed my husband chair was also missing bolt. Not major deal but found it odd that both chairs were not secure for usage.

My dog and I had a lovely few days here! They had great communication which made “check in/out” stress free. Definitely felt like a home away from home. They were also thoughtful enough to provide send suggestions for things to do and places to eat! Would absolutely stay here again!

Loved the property — it was clean, well-maintained, and offered a stunning sunset view. However, it’s not very baby-friendly. The kitchen area was extremely small, making it difficult to even prepare quick meals for a baby. The garbage bin was also quite limited, which became an issue for disposing of baby diapers during our 3-day stay. We had booked the property assuming on-demand cleaning services were available (as listed on Expedia), but since it’s a self-serve apartment, there was no support on-site. When we contacted the operator through the number provided, we were informed that no cleaning services were available before checkout. Except for service, I would say its definitely a nice place to stay especially if you are not traveling with baby.
