A wonderful homely oasis

Having spent an excellent week at the unpretentious Diamond Village I am so relaxed it has taken me over a week to engage my brain and write this! This peaceful complex is set on the hillside between Hersonissos and Piskopiano. Koutoulafari, a great place to hit for food and drinks in the evening, is only 5 minutes further walking from Piskopiano. Admittedly this location may not be for everyone but we thoroughly enjoyed our approx. 12 minute walk back from the beach and up the hill every day, and my wife is 7 months pregnant! Apartments are simple but very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well presented, and all balconies have great views. Yes, as others have pointed out, the air-con is extra. This may be a little strange but not a deal breaker - just deal with it and move on. With apartment prices this reasonable why let something this insignificant ruin your holiday? The heart of this operation, and what really makes Diamond Village a cut above others in the area, is the staff. The manager, Angela, is a brilliant, warm host who had our air-con fixed in no time when the coolant sprung a minor leak. Special mention also to Dimitri for local knowledge and Nicos for tracking down my missing sunglasses left in a taxi – both over and above the call of duty. My only minor criticism would be the length of time it took to reply to our initial emails; although, in fairness we should have sent these closer to our stay.

Fantastic place to stay

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home. The staff are fantastic and nothing is to much trouble they go out if their way to Make sure your stay is perfect. Nikos (Leicester),Angela,Manos,Costas Helen and Alex are like a family and we shall return soon.

Out of the way, but good for sunbathing

Shower was tiny. No soap or shampoo. Would have been lost if we didn't have a car. Pool area was nice. Our first room was awful and reeked of smoke but they changed us to a nicer, smoke-free room. They tried to say they couldn't stop people from smoking, but I suggested they not put ashtrays in the rooms and that would be a good start!

Friendly and relaxed

Stayed here for 7 nights recently and have little complaint really,rooms are fairly spacious and very clean and all are cleaned daily but shower doors in bathroom looked grubby and in need of replacing.This a homely,relaxed place,(it even has its own resident golden retriever)and the staff are friendly and helpful and the three hillside villages,each with their own individual character and charm,are all within walking distance from hotel,albeit up a hill or two!

Very nice apartments.

The ground floor studio we had booked was unavailable for the night of our arrival but we were offered a 2 bedroom apt on 2nd floor, with the option to change the next day if we preferred. We opted to stay as we had amazing views from out balcony & the location was lovely & quiet. Hersonissos is a very busy, commercial place but is well placed for travel around the island. The beach is probably one of the most unattractive we've ever encountered on holiday, very small, cramped with greyish sand however there are nicer ones albeit a bus ride away. The nearby villages of Piskopiano & Koutouloufari (about a 10 min uphill walk) are lovely, with plenty of places to eat & drink & cheaper than the town. This was our first visit to Crete & although we had a very enjoyable holiday we wouldn't come again as we prefer the smaller islands. We would however, have no hesitation in recommending the Diamond Village Apartments.

באתר היה מצויין לנו שבמלון מחייבים אותנו ברגע שאנחנו מגיעים לשם, וכשהגענו גילינו שכבר חייבו בלי להודיע. המלון בסך הכל נחמד ויפה רוב התמונות שמראים זה החדרים של הבריכה שלפי דעתי שווה להשקיע בהם עוד כסף (אנחנו אישית לא השקענו והתבאסנו מזה). המלון שקט ונחמד אבל חשוב לציין שהוא רחוק!! המיקום שמוציין מוטעה והמלון יושב על הר והגעה ממנו לשדרה המרכזית של חרסוניסוס ברגל היא בין 10-15 דקות. אנחנו רצינו מלון קרוב והדירוג של המיקום היה מצויין בתור רמה גבוהה אז תשימו לב אם אתם מחפשים משהו מרוחק ושקט זה מתאים אבל אם אתם מעוניינים בלבלות בים ובמועדונים ומסעדות לא מומלץ בגלל המרחק.

Distante da mare, struttura da ristrutturare, specie bagno senza aspiratore, senza Phon, formiche attirate da pessima pulizia, odore di ambiente chiuso, aria condizionata a pagamento. È un peccato perché sarebbe una struttura con grandi potenzialità con ambiente esterno veramente gradevole, cucina buona, Barman Nicolas eccezionale, di una gentilezza disarmante e accoglienza proprietari e staff da farti sentire quasi a casa (escuso chi faceva pulizie)

Won't be back at the hotel and Hersonissos !

Not my type of holidays at all. The complex in itself is just OK, very family oriented, the apartment we stayed was average, not too small, kitchen area could be way much better, WIFI don't even count on it... About Hersonissos, well we hated it, horrible and depressing place, the villages on the other side of the complex (Piskopiano and Koutouloufari) are fine, nice tavernas but Crete has sooo much other nicer places.... Don't go there if you can...

Ganska liten anläggning på bergskulle 1 km ner till havet. Lite långt till finna stränder. Hyrbil krävs. Lägenheten är fint byggd men möbleringen har mer att önska. Sängen saknar bädmadrass. Köksutrustning bristfällig och lite sliten. Mycket vänlig personal som försöker så gott de kan.
