Publié le 23 oct. 2017 sur ExpediaThe beautiful home was located in a quiet village steps away from the town square. We enjoyed a lovely private court yard and a deck on one of our upstairs bedrooms. The home had been recently been faithfully restored to its original 200 year plan. Period furnishings made it a delight!
The staff was kind, accommodating and extremely helpful.
A gourmet traditional Greek breakfast was served every morning. It was absolutely delicious!!
The village square was a few blocks away with many restaurants.
All in all, we couldn't have asked for more! It was the very best way to experience Greece.

Historic cottages in lovely village near Heraklion
Publié le 10 juin 2017 sur HotelsArchanes is a wonderful village, with a lovely main square surrounded by restaurants and cafes full of the locals rather than tourists. It is an excellent base for seeing Knossos and museums in Heraklion, which are easily reached by bus or car. Kalimera Archanes is an interesting place to stay, the individual cottages having been nicely renovated and very helpfully managed by Lefteris (sorry if I've got your name wrong!). We really enjoyed our stay. On the square, we highly recommend Bakaliko restaurant -- excellent food and an owner who is the expert on the excellent wineries of this area.

Our little home in the village immersed us in the culture of Crete. Lefteris was the perfect host, helping us plan our itinerary to appreciate the sights and culture of Archanes, Crete. With Maria providing outstanding breakfast each morning stepped in traditional foods of the area (and wildflowers each day), we were fueled for our daily explorations
of Palace of Knossos,Museum of Archelogy, Palace of Phaistos, Matala Beach, Mt. Yutkas, and leisurely strolling around the village, vineyards and olive groves. Lefteris made this stay in Crete a trip of a lifetime.

Et koselig leilighetshotell, utenom det vanlige
Publié le 15 oct. 2016 sur HotelsDette er et helt spesielt lite, gammelt, leilighetshotell, midt inne i en hage i en bakgate i en typisk kretisk landsby, utenfor allfarvei. Veldig hyggelig og hjelpsomt vertskap. Men hotellet er svært vanskelig å finne når en kommer med egen bil, parkering er omtrent umulig å finne. Det beste er å kontakte hotellet å be om å bli møtt ved innkjørselen til landsbyen.

Emplacement : Would recommend a car to see the sites
Fantastic Hotel Staff. particularly Lefteris who was incredibly helpful and looked after us like we were family

Very nice relaxing stay at a lovely villa.

Pour : The apartment was lovely, the garden exquisite, and the breakfast ample and varied from day to day
Contre : A person on site would be a great improvemeng
Emplacement : There is a bus station two blocks away. It takes you to the larger town of Heraklio, stops at the site of Knossos palace's arqueological site,..
We stay in this free standing lovely house. The living room, kitchen and bathroom in the ground floor, a nice bedroom with a terrace upstairs. Breakfast was brought to us in the mormning consisting of eggas, cakes, breads and many other items. It was close to a lovely town plaza, where we found nice restaurants, especially Bakaliko, a lovely place specializing in great local wines. The only setback was that the hotel manager dis not stay in the premises, and if needs or questions arose, we sometimes could not reach him right away. Mr Lefteris, the man in charge, was very nice and helpful. We considered the hotel a great find, and would recommend it highly
