Staff were friendly but very busy. Breakfast bar was inconsistently stocked (the first morning I went out and purchased yogurt because there wasn't any, only to return and find that things had been stocked up; there was tea but no hot water turned on). Room was clean and comfortable, though a slightly off-putting smell (cleaner?) and no ability to open windows.

An awful experience with an owner who does not care. We arrived in the evening for a 1-week stay. At check-in, I mentioned concerns about the air quality as the smell throughout the main parts of the hotel was intense. They brushed it off. After staying one night, we found the condition to cause health problems for me. I suffer from a lot of allerfies. I raised this with reception who called the owner, who blatantly yelled at me for any suggesting any issues. We had booked for 1-week but there was no way I could make it through a week. We went back and forth over next day trying to find a compromise (including offering to pay for half the stay even if we left), but they refused and just said it's non-refundable. And to make things worse, they refused to even try remediate the issue or offer any solution. We left after two nights. Oh, and just to add, the hotel has a live-in cat -- another thing that made me very allergic.

We've been here a few times and always loved it. The room was great with a beautiful outdoor space, but unfortunately that's where the positive ends this trip. There was no iron but the girl at the front said they had a steamer, couldn't find one but said she could get from the other hotel across the street. After an hour I figured she wasnt showing up, and when we headed to dinner noticed her at the other hotel working outside. Also no soap in the shower, mini fridge was supposed to be stocked, it was empty, not even water. The ice machine was in the alley outside but at least that was an option. There was a menu in the room for the cafe downstairs that was closed the entire time we were there. Not saying we won't return, but hoping for better service if we do. It was still a nice time but service was very lacking. Even though it wasn't weekend pricing, for still being charged over $1000 for two nights, we expected more.
