Nice hotel in a good location.
Posted Feb. 6, 2024 on HotelsEnjoyed our two night stay. Hotel is well situated just a couple of miles off the motorway in a quiet location. Very attractive building with large extension at the back in similar style. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Rooms were quiet and clean.
We dined both evenings. Reasonable choice and large platefuls! Waiter did have a tendency to want to clear plates very quickly!

Posted Dec. 7, 2023 on HotelsWe were met by a member of staff on arrival who has been there for many years and is always very pleasant and helpful with any questions we ask so we’ll done to you we went for breakfast and although the porridge was not to our liking the rest of it was very good and good value for money also the member of staff who served us was very chatty and friendly so we’ll done to you too we will be back again next year as we’ve been visiting your hotel for many years and it’s great value

Shocking
Posted Nov. 13, 2023 on HotelsWe were here to look at it for a wedding venue. The whole place was cold tired and dirty. The receptionist could not be bothered to get out of her chair to check us in. Staff wearing coats. Plastic table cloths and microwaved food. Partner had upset stomach the following morning. Mould in bathroom. Shockingly bad.

Dirty, smelly and a total misrepresentation

Filthy carpet which had endless marks and stunk. Horrible, old , uncomfortable mattresses that dipped in the middle and could feel the springs. Creaky bunk beds. Broken furniture
The bathroom reeked of urine.
The photos on the website and Hotels.com are a total misrepresentation and for the amount we paid, feels extremely unfair to its customers.
Our room was rundown and should not be open to the public until given a full refurbishment.
We try as a family to support independent, family run hotels, well this hotel is an embarrassment to that industry

Grubby hotel
Posted Nov. 2, 2023 on HotelsHotel looked nice from the outside but very deceiving once you walk through the door. Hotel room was grubby, carpets stained quite badly & the walls dirty. Bathroom tiles black with mould. Disgusted that I had to paid an extra £30 for one nights stay because I had my two very small Yorkie dogs with us.

This could be an absolute gold mine, but the rooms are tired and the attention to detail just isn’t there!
The barman walked out during our meal, so there was no one serving for a short time!
Not a great choice for vegans (evening meal), but the breakfast was great!
