Good location and staff, needs a facelift

Stayed here overnight as a family of 4 on a trip to Halifax. The hotel well located for restaurants and family exploring and the service was very good- the staff was extremely friendly! The hotel itself could use a facelift: our room was clean but the carpet was very worn and a little stinky. The hotel gym is extremely humid from being next to the pool, and the pool area could use a renovation.

The room (standard) was quite spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Location was good too; right below the Citadel and about a 10-minute walk to the waterfront. The walk to the waterfront is down (and then back up) a pretty steep hill so folks with mobility challenges may find it difficult. Fortunately, you can take an alternate route walking a bit south and then east to the water.
