Great location walking distance to Halls Gap township but feeling remote within nature. We spent most of our time on the large deck, enjoying the view. And most appreciated was being able to let our dog off leash on the gated deck.

Janaza is not a Boutique Retreat as described in their adverts.There is nothing Boutique or Retreat at all .It is old and out dated .The interior looks lovely in the ads but very different upon arrival 
.No outlook from lounge.dark and uninviting .Old outdated kitchen and Bathroom .mouldy shower recess and old washed up mismatched towels .dripping taps and blown globes ..Unsafe steep staircase to bedroom with no hand rails .loo downstairs so awful uncomfortable trips down stairs 
.Outside is unkempt with dead potted plants ,weeds ,long grass and piles of rotting wood and broken branches /trees
also drive way needs attention as it’s very uneven and rough 
When I messaged the owner and outlined all these problems /annoyances to him ,he mostly had excuses for everything 
then tells me I left yellow stains on the sheets which were already there!!!!.i didn’t even want to get into bed on first night because of the stains and it felt dirty 
They advertise a lovely serene place to enjoy 
trust me ,it’s far from that !Absolulety no maintenance on this property in years 
 Don’t waste your money and go find another for same price.Never again for us .

This was such a lovely little home in among the trees. There were kangaroos in my garden and emus further down the street. I felt very safe and comfortable here, and the hosts were very responsive and great to deal with. Thank you!

Okay where can I start. I absolutely LOVED this place. I was driving from Adelaide to Melbourne and decided to do a pit stop, and I am so glad I did. The architectural features inside the house, quirky cut-outs in walls with spot lighting and plants was very much to my taste. And the high ceilings with the mezzanine bedroom above made the place feel much more spacious. Surprising also well insulated, the heater heated up the whole place very quickly.The location is handy, it's off the main stretch where shops are - although it's about a 20 minute walk both ways. For me this was fine as I had the dog to walk, if elderly or not in okay walking shape, maybe do the short 2 minute drive to the shops instead.The property overlooks the shrubland and kangaroos were quite often in sight. You have several different views from the balcony which wraps around 2 sides of the building.I could see myself visiting here on a yearly basis if possible. I only had 2 nights (1st night arrived quite late), so it didn't feel like enough time. Next time 3-4 nights I think would be better option.Sorry for the long review, for those who have read this far... I highly recommend this as a must stay!

2 day getaway

Location was great close to all activities. Accom very clean and kitchen well equipped. Lovely outdoor area with great views. TV however had no signal the entire stay. Was warned by owner that signal maybe touch and go but didn't think it would be this bad. Central Heating worked but very noisy wall unit, possible faulty bearing. We still had a nice stay .

Very disappointed

We had booked this property and paid the deposit on 29th March (for arrival in May) and received correspondence 2 weeks before our arrival for final payment, which we paid. On the day of our arrival we received no communication re the check-in procedure, despite sending correspondence to the hosts about lunch time asking for it. We arrived at the property about 4.20pm and no code to enable check in left for us. We tried phoning the hosts, no answer! We then phoned Stayz office number, they were also unable to contact hosts. Suggested we cancel our booking for a full refund, which we ultimately did, but trying to find alternative accommodation at 5pm on a Friday evening in Halls Gap is challenging. The hosts did later send a text apologising for their omission to organise the check-in as they were on holiday overseas. If you book this accommodation, I hope you are better looked after by the hosts than we were!
