Mana Kauai Island Vacations present the charming Umetsu Cottage!
Welcome to our idyllic one bedroom, one and a half bath cottage at the Hanalei Bay. This remodeled beach cottage reflects the era of Old Hawaii. Located steps from the iconic Hanalei Bay and a short stroll to the center of Hanalei Town, Umetsu cottage is completely private from other homes and offers a California King bed and cold Air conditioning,
Experience the Hanalei mountain views while dining outdoors. After a day at the beach, hiking, or playing in the rivers you will enjoy the hot outdoor shower followed by a relaxing hangout on one of the two covered outdoor lanais.
This cottage hails to simpler times of a bygone era. Most of our guests return year after year.

This is a Mana Kaua'i Island Vacations home and we follow many practices that support regenerative tourism. We do the work so you don't have to.

This transient vacation rental is located in the tsunami evacuation zone.
Please review our rental agreement for our terms, conditions, and policies.
A rental agreement will be emailed to you. We do require that to be signed and returned.
The Administrative Fee is subject to change based on the number of nights booked and dates of travel.
For reservations 14 or more nights a mid-stay clean is required every 14 nights and the fee will be added to all reservations.

Fabulous beach house for a couple

Really enjoyed walk-in to the beach from the house and being near enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Town has everything needed for a stay. Having air conditioning and fans was a bonus. Property well supplied with towels. Basic condiments helped. Fridge had water dispenser. Basic toiletries and hairdryer also available.

We had a lot of rain but the Lanai was heaven and access to the beach was close. The cottage could not have been any cuter. The kitchen counter space is limited but it just was a matter of getting used to. We can’t wait to return.

Perfect Hanalei cottage

This was our 7th trip to Kauai and the 4th time we’ve stayed in Hanalei - and Umetsu was definitely the best! Great location - just a short walk to the ocean, in a very quiet neighbourhood and on a large plot; very spacious for the two of us and very well appointed. The AC (which we only used in the bedroom at night) was also so welcome, and the house is so well laid out, it was never needed in the lounge and kitchen with the doors open at both ends; loved the huge deck as well

Nice cottage, great location

We really enjoyed our time here. 10 minute walk from the shops, 3 minutes from the beach. Cottage was clean, well equipped, and spacious for 2 people. Loved the front porch!

The property could not have been more wonderful! We loved the out door shower and the rooster alarm clock. Generous in space, quiet, you can see and hear the ocean from the fabulous porch. Nothing was wanting!

Just perfect

I cannot think of any negatives of our stay. The cottage was fabulous in every detail, the location, the house it self was meticulously furnished, the huge garden with the barbecue, the outside shower, the easy access to the beach and Hanalei centre, the view... just perfect. It might be a bit pricey, but when you get there you forget it!
