How close is Wally`s House |Kayaks|Firepit|Game Shed|Central! to the airport?
This vacation home is 37.5 mi (56-min drive) away from the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Intl. Airport (AVP) airport, the closest popular airport to the property.
The operator responded promptly to communications and was helpful and cordial. The house was clean, neat, cozy, and homey. Not elegant, but casual, relaxed and family style. Just right for us. If I go up that way again, I will definitely stay there. As a matter of fact, knowing that place is there makes it more likely I will return and spend more time there. It couldn't have been much better.
had a fun time, loved the game shed & patio/fire pit area. wish there had actually been 5 kayaks as the listing said (there was only 1). other than that, great house, would definitely stay here again
We stayed for 7 nights to visit family. The layout is as presented; furnishings are newer and in good condition as is the kitchen equipment. The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday meals. Wall mounted screens allow access to streaming services; the yard is fenced and comes with a fun game shed! The neighborhood and location in relation to the lake is very good. Two items that we had a problem with. The bed in the primary bedroom felt like one your son found in his dorm room, not very comfortable. The other item of note is that the home needs a good, deep cleaning. The service the owners use do a quick surface cleaning but don't appear to go beyond that. The windows, exterior doors, and floors throughout the home are the worst. If the owners clean it up and invest in a better frame/box spring and mattress for the primary suite, we'll be back.
Overall, this is a nice place and we consider staying again. Details like the game shed, fenced in backyard and puppy bowls and treats for furry friends set it apart. The yard is spacious. Pretty kid friendly and had basics for cooking. Also note that many restaurants around the area close pretty early and/or close several days a week, so something to consider. We traveled in the summertime so really peak season for the Poconos. If you're traveling in slower months, I imagine there might be even less options. Pros: It's quiet and secluded, so very relaxing. The space is ample so even with 5 people we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Indoor and outdoor dining options - cute breakfast nook inside and picnic table outside. The fire pit gave a great vibe and gave us the perfect mix of outdoor (camp-like) experience with the comforts of home. The hosts did a great job of communicating directions and leaving helpful information in the house. And, as mentioned before, the fenced in backyard and game shed.Cons: Because of the secluded location, you really can't walk anywhere because everything is private property - so no morning strolls, you will need to get in the car and drive to one of the trails. The beds are uncomfortable. For rentals, it's pretty standard not have to the MOST comfortable beds, but these were worth noting. When using hot water the whole house rumbles (sure there's a reason, but just kind of odd). The cleanliness of the house was lacking.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this adorable property. The house was extremely clean and our teens loved the game shed and fire pit. This is a cute house in an up and coming neighborhood. Major plus it is close to both the boat launch and restaurants/breweries!
Quiet neighborhood, great back yard and game shed. Nice open first floor concept with all bedrooms upstairs. Loved that their was air in each room. Also happy we could fit our boat trailer in the driveway. It was a wonderful trip for us.
The location was excellent. The house was on a quiet street in a quaint, lakeside community. The house was very comfortable and had everything to make for a very pleasant and comfortable stay. We can highly recommend this property.
Nice home in Hawley, close to the downtown and other activities in the area. Host is responsive to questions and needs. Would recommend if you are in the Pocono region.
