Summer vacation
Publié le 29 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband, chihuahua and I stayed at the cottage for 4 days while in Virginia. We loved the view of the water from all the windows that allowed natural light in. We watched all the birds and crabs while sitting on the back porch.
The location is great for visiting all the Historic areas. We took a segway tour and Ghost tour in Yorktown.
We spent a whole day walking around in Williamsburg.
Being a history buff my husband really enjoyed it. I even learned a few things. LOL
I would recommend staying here if in the area.

RELAXING

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Met with longtime friends for a getaway. The place isn't fancy, but we weren't looking for fancy, just a quiet hideout. Would stay again.

Peaceful getaway!

The kitchen was well stocked, the gas fireplace worked and the hosts were very good at communicating with us. We had no issues and would highly recommend this home. Thanks Mike and Donna!!

York River Cottage
Publié le 18 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayCottage was in the a great location to explore the Williamsburg area. It was cozy and had wonderful views of the river and wildlife from the back deck. The essentials were stocked and the host was easy to contact if necessary. Great experience!

Something out of a book

Memorable weekend and memorable stay
Publié le 12 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayStayed at the Gloucester Point cottage for graduation weekend at CNU in nearby Newport News (pretty easy ~35 min drive to the campus). What a great find! The 360* views were spectacular with all kinds of waterfowl in the marshes off of the York River. The house was nicely equipped and furnished and perfect for a small family gathering. The Mills were very responsive to address questions/concerns. The outdoor property/deck provided an excellent venue for a family celebration. Unlike many rentals I’ve encountered, the grill was immaculate and perfect for our cook out. I would definitely stay again. There was a great selection of stores and local restaurants on the Gloucester side and accessible with a short drive to Yorktown which kept us close except for the trips to CNU for the campus events.

Let the silence wash over and your cares fade away
Publié le 12 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThank you Donna and Mike for creating a cozy, tranquil, and secluded spot for families can enjoy. Our dog Remy loved it!! The silence was meditative and wish we could stay longer. Would not change a thing except to warn ppl about the Wendy's down the street. It is the worst in Gloucester!! Tony & Milena's Pizzeria was amazing!!! A short drive to outlets and Yorktown.
