Hayling Island is one of Hampshireâs best-loved, unspoilt beach locations on the South Coast. Hayling Seafront is primarily a shingle beach, with long stretches of sand below the high tide line. Brilliant for all water sports and a mecca for kite surfers, windsurfers, and foil boarders. On Hayling there is something for everyone to do! A 2-mile narrow gauge seaside light railway, a funfair, the Hayling WWII Heritage Trail, seaside walks, pubs, restaurants, and shops. Along with a theatre, Alpacas, and a donkey sanctuary. There are 3 marinas, Hayling Island sailing club and Hayling Island yacht club. Hayling boasts one of the top one hundred links golf courses in England (Hayling Golf Club), as well as a family friendly âBeachlandsâ pitch and putt par 3 course and âTournerbury golf centreâ an intermediate course.
Further afield, get the ferry across to Portsmouth with waterside dining, designer outlets, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Museum, pop over to the Isle of Wight or visit Goodwood for the Festival of Speed or the Goodwood revival.
We were really impressed by the accommodation and thought it was absolutely lovely.
We were really impressed by the accommodation and thought it was absolutely lovely. There was everything in the property you could possibly need for your stay and spending our days looking out at the sea was amazing.A path ran outside the property all along the beach so great for dog walkers. Would highly recommend Dreamcatcher for someone wanting to visit Hayling Island.

We had a fabulous holiday at Dreamcatcher as part of my big birthday celebrations with our grown up
We had a fabulous holiday at Dreamcatcher as part of my big birthday celebrations with our grown up kids. The house was comfortable, clean and spacious.I love to cook and enjoyed the well equipped kitchen with a good range of crockery including lovely salad bowls and china tea set, cafetiĂšre and olive dishes. The fridge was a great size for families and foodies. The beds were super comfy and we all slept well during our stay. We found a Lidl store nearby and enjoyed being able to eat in for evenings while we had lunches out. We had a superb lunch at the Isla Bay Seafront Kitchen on the day of my birthday followed by a trip to the amusement park via the mini railway. Railway staff were welcoming and friendly and placed a Birthday Special sign on the train for me. We had afternoon tea at Spinnaker Tower, in nearby Portsmouth, which was lovely. Personally, I loved the closeness to the sea as I was in swimming most days and only stayed on land when the weather made swimming unsafe. Happily, we watched the rain instead and after the rain, visited the donkey sanctuary. Fabulous holiday!
5 friends wanting a relaxing weekend to catch up and relax. House had pretty much everything we wanted and needed with beautiful views. A sun lounger or 2 and deck chairs would be amazing as you are directly in front of the beach but it is very pebbly.. Decor was lovely, easy route bus stop access ( as taxis on the island are few and far between with the 1 taxi firm not even answering and the mailbox full ) and felt the owner had thought of all your creature comforts. Couldnât fault the stay itâs self at all.
Only critique was the communication with the company host which was cottages.com. Not great, didnât receive any check in info until I contacted them and tried many times for help on a query to find them not so helpful and agents unavailable online to help.
However, this didnât mar out stay.. we would absolutely return.
