We really enjoyed our stay. Thank heavens for the air conditioning! Nice pub and food was wonderful! Loved our little visit with owners dog, Mable. Very well behaved and friendly.
First class place to stay, best b & b we have ever stayed in, especially for cleanliness. Breakfast was also exceceptional as was every member of staff that we had the pleasure of meeting
Positives: + Good breakfast spread; + Parking; + Convenient location; + Friendly bar staff. Neutral: Receptionist was to-the-point and factual after being rung for. Negatives: - wobbly toilet roll holder; - No decaff coffee, only two UHT capsules of milk on arrival; - Duvet covers and pillowslips not ironed; Inconsistent service at dinner in the bar.
Weâve stayed at the Crossways several times over the past 5 years and have ALWAYS had a pleasant stay however, on this occasion although the accommodation was the usual high standard the food in the restaurant was very poor, we did mention this so the staff were aware, the food was poorly presented and quite chewy (Iâm particularly talking about the lasagne) the gluten free options for my mother were limited (no gf bread/bun) they used do amazing chunky chips but are now soggy fries, Iâm not sure whatâs changed but it is such a shame as this let down the stay somewhat. I will end in a positive that the breakfast was its usual fabulous and the lady who serves us is extremely pleasant and friendly, a real asset to the business, we will be returning in the hope it was just a one off bad meal.
