Find your perfect escape on this secluded 10-acre estate, where stunning mountain vistas greet you at every turn. Spend your evenings soaking in the hot tub or toasting s'mores by the large crackling fire pit under a blanket of stars. All this private tranquility is just a scenic and easy 4-mile drive from the boutiques and restaurants of Cashiers.

Perched on a high ridge, this newly renovated chalet-style home offers stunning views of Whiteside Mountain, Little Terrapin Mountain, and the surrounding forest from large windows and wrap-around decks.

-- 1st Floor: Three well-appointed bedrooms with balcony access. King primary suite, second king bedroom, and a queen room. An additional fold-away twin bed is available. Home sleeps up to 7 guests.
---2nd Floor: Soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows define the open-plan kitchen, dining, and family area.
---Outdoor Living: Relax in the hot tub, gather on the decks, or explore the private, rhododendron-lined drive and several trails that wind through the woods.


Some amenities we offer:

- Coffee bar equipped with regular drip coffee maker, Keurig, and French Press, burr coffee grinder, along with starter pods, sugar, creamer, and tea to help you get your day started.

- Fully equipped kitchen with spices, oils, and all new appliances, pans, and utensils.

- Decks surround most of the home to take in the magnificent views, including an observation area with Mark 2 binoculars to see up close the cliffs of Whiteside Mountain - the highest perpendicular bare rock face east of the Rocky Mountains.

- Large stone firepit with six Adirondack chairs.

- Game lawn perfect for Corn Hole or Bocce Ball or other lawn games.

- Hot tub on lovely stone patio with views of mountains.

- Beautiful landscaping with lovely plants and flowers.

- The Turkey Den - a small kid or teen space with deck, kind of like a she-shed.

- "Treehouse" deck on hillside to view mountains - makes you feel like you're in the trees and part of nature - perfect place to enjoy coffee, some wine, or just take in the views.

- Several trails on property, including The Enchanted Forest Trail, where little explorers can participate in a scavenger hunt to find hidden woodland fairies, gnomes, tree faces, and animals.

- Board games, puzzles, and books for kids and adults.

- Plenty of seating on each deck and patio space to enjoy the views and mountain air!

- We are dog friendly for up to two house-broken 50-lb dogs with prior approval (see requirements below), and the property is a great place for your four-legged canines to explore with supervision. $125/dog

- The location - unbeatable privacy and views. We are off the beaten path but just a 7-minute drive to the shops and restaurants of Cashiers and about a 20-minute drive to Highlands.

- Full Generator that can be turned on if power goes out!


In addition, Sliding Rock is just a mile away - this is a fun waterfall/swimming hole where kids and adults can slide down the rocks and cool off during the summer.

Whether it’s hiking, fishing, golfing, skiing, biking, or swimming, the area is full of year-round outdoor activities. Or browse through unique shops, sample the many fine restaurants, go gemstone mining, horseback riding, take in a free concert during the summer, or visit during one of the many festivals.

When you rent our homes, we provide lots of insider info, including suggestions of places to visit/tour, restaurants we recommend, and local tips. Some things to note:

We have both Starlink and Verizon WIFI providing high-speed Internet at High Ridge Haven. Keep in mind the home is in the mountains so it is possible to experience a momentary hiccup, but you may not experience any issues at all. Additionally, you can go into the town of Cashiers (4 miles away)- the local library or Buck’s Coffee provides good internet. Verizon offers the best cell service. If you are with another carrier, you can connect via WiFi to get calls or text messages.

We provide great directions, but those who are not used to driving in the mountains should be aware of curving, sometimes steep roads. The access to our home is fairly easy but would require a four-wheel or all-wheel drive during winter weather.

The unique setting of this home - on top of a ridge in the mountains - means that other creatures make their home here, so we ask that you embrace nature. This area is known as a temperate rainforest. While there aren’t many mosquitos, there are other flying insects as well as spiders, birds, squirrels, raccoons, deer, and the occasional bear.



DOG POLICY (also on rental agreement):

Two house-broken and well-trained dogs of up to 50 pounds and two years of age are allowed with prior approval by owner. Puppies are not allowed. No other animals are allowed. Failure to get prior approval of a dog may result in termination of rental, immediate eviction, and forfeiture of security deposit. There is a non-refundable $125 per dog. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and crated if left alone in home. Dog waste must be picked up and disposed prior to departure. Any damage will be deducted from security deposit.

This house had breathtaking mountain views from the front and rear of the house. There is a floor mounted post with binoculars on the front deck facing Whiteside Mountain. The landscape lighting was so nice while we were sitting around the fire pit. Great hideaway!!

Breathtaking views!

The cabin and property are very well maintained. The home is clean, comfortable, and spacious. But the views from every single window steal all of the attention. They are spectacular! We were all sad to leave at the end of our stay.

Great home, great location, great view

We have stayed in countless rentals over the years and are always concerned if everything we will need for cooking and enjoying our stay will be there. This home was well taken care of and had everything you could possibly need while on vacation and the setting and scenario was unbelievable.

Amazing Views

My husband and I stayed at this amazing cabin for a week to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, and to search for property to purchase. It was very well-stocked, and clean with everything we needed to be comfortable. The views are amazing, and there are several decks to enjoy the views. The owners are wonderful to communicate with and truly want you to be happy. I highly recommend this cabin!

Amazing Luxury Mountain House!

This was probably my favorite VRBO property yet! I was blown away with the mountain views, the wonderful amenities throughout, and just how cool and unique this spot was! Going down the long windy driveway felt like entering a fairy tale. We stayed here in October and the foliage really transformed the entire landscape into another world. Such a cool and special spot and I already can't wait to get back!

Marvelous mountain getaway

We adored our stay! The layout was perfect for our family, the coffee bar was great, and we all absolutely fell in love with all the amazing window views!! The hot tub was just the thing after full days of hiking, we saw deer, turkey, and other wildlife. We felt completely snug and secluded, but were just a few minutes from town. One of the kids is ready to book again. We had everything we needed! Love love love!

Truly spectacular

When I tell you, this place is incredible that does not even come close to describing how peaceful and remote. This place is gorgeous Whiteside Mountain on one side and another beautiful mountain on the other side, perched on a hilltop with literally no one, but you only a few short miles from town. The photos don’t come close to how amazing this place is!!
