We only stayed for one night, however was very pleased with the location of the hotel. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offerings were great - a variety of food to fit anyone’s cravings. To our delight our room was upgraded - we had the room with the shower on the balcony. Lovely stay and would recommend this to solo, couple and families traveling.

Starting with arriving at the hotel we started to run into problems, first the room we booked online was not accessible, so we got downgraded, to a smaller room but it had balcony oppose to the original one, however there was a price difference, since the most expensive room was booked by us originally, hotel made us sign a paper that we voluntarily downgrading at the high price. Once we got to the room next surprise, room was dirty, but we were so tired we just went to sleep. Next morning we have left the room the cleaning staff was watching us leave, came back in late afternoon the room was still filthy, we saw the cleaning staff in the hallway and asked for clean towels, the lady said she will be right back maybe, waited a bit, no show we figured maybe she mis understood us. An hour later my girlfriend decided to take shower and was laying in bed after. the cleaning lady came back knocked the door as I opened she walked in as if it was her place and wanted to clean the room, took us a while to ask for her to leave as my girlfriend was laying naked in bed during this conversation. Day 3 same thing left in the AM, same cleaner watched us leave, came back around 530 pm, room was filthy. Since it was our last day in Sigon and we were tired after full day of work, we said screw it, we just never again going to use this hotel, as we both fall asleep there is a sound of someone trying to force open the door luckily the latch on door was on. Few minutes same thing happening,

Check in was a little slow as we arrived at a busy time but we were delighted to get an upgrade. The room was very spacious with a huge bathroom/ dressing room in the ‘boutique’ hotel alongside the ‘charner’. Room was clean and bed comfortable, plenty of surface space/ chairs. Doors opened onto small balcony looking over street. The road was noisy day & night but that’s a city. Good air conditioning & the room was serviced daily if requested. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good although the hotel was busy & they sometimes struggled to seat everybody.

We liked this place so much we canceled our reservation at another hotel for our return to Ho Chi Minh and booked for another 4 nights before our departure home! The roof top pool and bar are great and night time views are incredible. Great location and plenty to do in surrounding neighborhood.

Incredible stay at Au Lac Charner hotel. What really stood out was the staff- I forgot my airpods in my hotel room after checking out and was leaving Saigon to go to Phu Quoc and then Hanoi. They contacted me upon finding my airpods and offered to mail them to my hotel in Hanoi. They arrived 2 days later! I am extremely grateful to the staff. I highly recommend this hotel!

WiFi a bit intermittent at times. Excellent housekeeping staff. Breakfast was adequate, but lacking a lot of variety. Only minor complaint there was no shower option in my junior suite (only a jacuzzi bathtub). There was a shower wand in the bathtub, but using it as a shower alternative just sprayed water all over the bathroom floor. Excellent bar with a wide variety of menu items. The rooftop pool was small but has an excellent view of the city, highly recommended.

Au Lac Charner Hotel is a small boutique property a few minutes away from central Saigon. It is a very neat and friendly hotel where your wish becomes the command of the friendly staff. The rooms, while smallish, are well furnished and comfortable. The most endearing quality of this hotel is the pleasantness of the staff, especially Kent at the front desk and Lewis in the restaurants.
