Check-in was supposed to be at 5:00. Arrived and keyholder was open and the key was gone. Took forever to get a hold of the property manager. Was told there was a second keyholder on a rafter under the eaves. Found it and was able to get a key. Key did not work on the front door. Was told it was a key to the back door. There is no back door. Then was told that housekeeper had the key and had an emergency to get more towels ??? Housekeeper arrived at 6:15 pm but said she still needed time to clean. She said she would be back at 7:30 with new towels. Went back at 7:30 pm and were able to get the key and opened the door. The smell was horrible; like something was rotten. The TV remote didn't work, and one of the heaters didn't work. Carpet in bedroom was spongy like it was wet underneath. Bathroom not up to code. Toilet is positioned so close to shower you either have to sit sideways or straddle. Oven was very dirty; crumbs all over top of garbage can. The "towels" were flimsy beach towels that you can get at a dollar store. The pictures on Expedia do not show any views of the stairs to the loft. There are no stairs, basically more of a narrow ladder with no type of railing at all. The bed in the loft is only accessible if you crawl onto it from the bottom; beams are in the way so that you can't walk around from the side without slamming your head into them. There was something spilled on the carpet next to the dirty nightstand. No communication!
