Yard salers comfort zone.

I have no idea who wrote previous reviews that seemed to make this place out to be excellent, however it is anything but. I don’t even know where to start. There was no check in person. Thank heavens for Nina the lady in the adjacent Malt Shop who showed me where to go, etc. The place is decorated as though the owner collected from yard sales in the 1980’s. It advertised “sleeps7”, no way!! Also states river view. The river here is a mass of overgrown prairie. On a positive note, the coffee was very good, the hot water was hot.

Excellent place to spend a few days if you have a small dog. Very large grassy area on the river in front of the motel. For the dog it was great, The ice machine was "broke down". We had to get ice across the street at the market. The mini frog did not have a freezer space. All in all it was ok for a few days' stay during the golf tournament.

Older motel that was clean but could use some updating. Appreciate that it was dog friendly, and the grass in front of the rooms by the river was awesome. Wish they offered breakfast as it's a tiny town.

It was cute, but I didn't get the room in the picture. It was a regular motel room and it is far from services. It is a small town, with a small town, rancher feel and a babbling brook. There was no person at the front desk. You had to call someone to check in, but he was courteous and had a great sense of humor.

Great place to stay, suggestions to improve

Love this place but would recommend to the owners: please provide 2 soaps (one for shower, one for hand washing). Please also provide a hair dryer. Try using a Magic Eraser to clean the shower floor (I’m pretty sure it would clean the shower floor). Consider providing 2 bottles of water (water had a strong taste of chlorine).

The small 1 bedroom queen cabins are close to the river and wildlife. We also enjoyed its proximity to town and the Devil's Tower area. It is early spring, and the true season hasn't started yet, but it filled our needs and we enjoyed our stay.

Kinda miffed

Pretty rough for the price, especially outside of tourist season. Because of "housekeeping issues," I was "upgraded to a room in the main hotel building instead of the chalet (which I chose because the reviews looked pretty good). I really doubt this was an upgrade. It was two beds, which didn't matter since I was alone. There was no one at the desk, so this change happened on the phone while I stood outside the office. Clean, had to be because it smelled like the disinfectant was poured on. Pedestal sink, so no counter space for toiletries or hair appliances. The sink was kinda scummy, the shower head was very crusty, and the towels were a bit stained (I do think they were clean though). I couldn't get the blinds all the way closed, and the smoke alarm beeped the whole time. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water, so the most important two things were fine. I probably could have complained, but I shouldn't have had to, and my trip was really early mornings, and really late nights, so I'd have been getting even less sleep by the time it was rectified. Overall, ok older place, but the price was not appropriate for the room, and I think I got jerked around on the "upgrade" thing.
