This hotel/motel is in a smaller town. I'd call it quiet, except there's a railroad line nearby if you're sensitive to that type of noise. There wasnt a high volume of trains at night.
The decor/building is a bit on the countey shabby side, but everything was clean and the beds neatly made.
There is a hot tob and pool, but we did not utilize them.
There is free coffee but there is not breakfast/food. However, there is a restaurant that adjoins the parking lot. We chose to bring our own grocery store breakfast.
The town is less than 1000 people and felt very safe. It's an easy drive to Horicon Marshm Horicon, Juneau, and Beaver Dam (where we were visiting friends).

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The owners, a nice young couple, were lovely, and I don't think they've owned the place long. But the cleanliness was suspect (kept stepping on stuff in the carpet in my room--needed a good vacuuming) and 1/2 of the lights were burned out. The toilet didn't flush at first, and the TV remote didn't work. They immediately addressed the remote problem, and also addressed the toilet issue the next day. I didn't mention the lights, as I didn't want to pile on.
Really enjoyed the patio! Also liked having a kitchen - it came in very handy.
This was mentioned in a previous review but didn’t bother me: There is a train in the middle of the night - lasts about 30 seconds or so.
Iron Ridge is a quiet little town. Shop for essentials at a convenience store. Motel owners were eager to meet our needs. The view from our windows was of pine trees, gardens and grass...not sterile paved parking lots. The pool was large and clean. The single train passing in the night was very loud, but quickly passed. We felt relaxed and refreshed after our stay.
Motel owners very friendly and accommodating to our group

They advertised room hot tub which was actually a jacuzzi. The bottom had a couple of spots of dirt on the bottom and the overall condition, especially the jets, did not appear clean. They advertised free continental breakfast, also confirmed by the desk clerk at the time we checked in, will be available at 6:30 am. Actually they only had a pot of coffee and a juice machine. On the first floor, next to the door to the steps leading down to the pool and our room and at the bottom of those stairs were trash bins overflowing with garbage and cardboard cartons. The morning of the next day, they still had not been cleared out. The desk clerk was never there and you had to ring the service bell every time we needed assistance. Otherwise everything else was okay with plenty of clean towels and a comfortable bed.
Great hidden gem went way out of their way to help you. Great old Skool pool that stayed open after hours . They also were nice enough to give us a shuttle ride to where we needed to go. Great place !
Walked into room went to turn on light and nothing came on. Found light in room got that turned on and windows were wide open, thought that was strange and kind of scary. There was extension cords all plugged into the same outlet close to bed and when you moved it turned the lights out. Had to move bed over so it wouldn’t hit the multiple cords. Towels smelled like someone forgot to take them out of washer for a few days and smelled musty. Bath tub wasn’t very clean and overall felt dirty. Wasn’t happy at all with the room and would never stay there again.

First it was not what we expected, pictures make it show a much nicer place. Rundown, needs updates majorly. Water leaks and damage, mold in our bathroom, my daughter found a pill under the bed, not clean, peeling paint, light switches didn’t work. The carpet felt nasty. I didn’t even get in the pool, pool room was filthy, pool table didn’t even have all the balls to play. It needs a whole new remodel. When I told the owner the next day about our night he said well I just bought it a few months ago. This place needs inspected and fix properly. Then I’m sure it would be a beautiful place.
