Frustrating Stay Despite Good Location

We had to switch rooms multiple times within just 2 nights due to cockroaches and AC issues, which was very disappointing. On the positive side, the resort fee was fully waived and the hotel is conveniently located for manta ray snorkeling tours.

The area around the property was nice to stroll.The staff were not overly friendly. The spa and large patio area were both closed for construction which was not disclosed bebfore arriving. There was a lot of noise from jackhammers doing construction that made it impossible to sit on the lanai. And after having another guest open the door to our room we realised the door lock was broken and didn"t lock for the first 5 days we were there. The manager apologized but didn't seem like it was a big deal. I would give this hotel a 3 star at best.

Really enjoyed our stay. Tanya at Concierge was extremely helpful and so willing to help. The breakfast bar at Piko was great for a quick morning bite. Enjoy the gift shop as it has many cool merchandise. You can purchase coffee in gift shop for much less than hotel if you are not a picky coffee drinker. The pools are wonderful and sunset views are amazing.

Our stay at the Outrigger Hotel was just okay—overall an average experience. When we arrived, our room wasn’t ready at the 3pm check-in time, which was a bit frustrating after traveling. Once we got in, we noticed the room didn’t have basic items like hand soap, and I had to make a request before it was provided. Another downside was having to pay for parking during our 6-day stay, which added up quickly on top of the room rate. For a resort, I expected a smoother and more welcoming experience, especially since my stay at the Outrigger in Waikiki, Oahu, was excellent in comparison. This location definitely has potential, but it fell short of the high standards I’ve come to expect from the Outrigger brand.

Thos property was exceptional! Probably one of the best spots we noticed in our travels around Kona. The amenities are amazing, pool is immaculate and the staff was very friendly. We also had a great view of the ocean and all of the nightly manta ray snorkeling. We would stay here again if back in Kona!

25th anniversary trip

After we checked in we went to our room and it hadnt been cleaned from the previous stay so we had to change rooms, and lug our luggage back to another room. It ended working out since it was a better view. We also booked 2 separate reservations which wetold the front desk in the beginning, but was locked out if our room for the 2nd half of our reservation and had to get rechecked in. The power also went out for about 7 hours one night.. complete black out!

In general, this hotel is fantastic especially for the kids. The kids swimming pool is awesome and you can spend a whole day in it. The waterslide is a plus. Dining is expensive, and you don't have too much choice. About 15 min drive to Kona center but if you don't want to drive, you have to spend much money on the dinning in the hotel. Overall this hotel is good. Worth recommend to my friends.
