I travel often and this experience blew my mind. Absolutely one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed! From the decor to the mattress and linens, everything was beautiful, tasteful, and top quality. It made for a peaceful getaway from stress. Highly recommended!

It was clean and comfortable, probably the best hotel we've stayed at in Kansas City! It's close enough to walk to Westport and the Uptown without it being so close that it's loud too, and we'll definitely be staying here again for the next concert we go to there!

A truly beautiful hotel, thoughtfully designed with stunning artwork and decor. The rain shower was luxurious, and the bed couldn’t have been more comfortable. I loved being able to walk to the museum for morning coffee and explore the charming neighborhood. I can’t wait to visit The Truitt again.

Parking is not easy, the spaces are limited and street parking is tight. This is a limited contact hotel, so no check in. Directions for getting in and finding your room are in an email. Lots of steps, stairs and rugs. So if you have any mobility concerns, this would be a tough sell. The space is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend it if someone is unsteady. The room I was in had glass French doors that opened right onto a step, so a bit of maneuvering with an arm full of bags. There was a nice array of welcome notes and chocolates on the bed. But there were random toiletries on the floor. Toilet paper is ridiculously 1ply. I understand boutique hotel, vintage plumbing, but seriously...it left much to be desired. There were 6 separate lamps/lights to turn off and I finally just went to bed with one set on since I couldn't figure out the switch. If someone was a light sleeper that could be an issue. The French Doors into my room had 2 sets of curtains for privacy. Thinking that I pulled them shut to cover the center, I noticed this morning a good bit of opening at the wall edge. Yikes! There was a coffee and Madeline and apple station for the morning, but no clean cups and no disposable cups either. Great gathering spaces for conversation, but no tables to work from in either the common areas or my room.

They do not advertise that their property consists of an east and west building. We were not informed until we went to check in that my friend and I were in separate buildings. Upon speaking to the first owner, we were told there would be no refund which we said was understandable, even though this hotel was falsely advertised. The second owner called 9 times, cursing at me, yelling at me and calling me names I cannot repeat. As a Mom of 3 who has not been away for 8 years. I was really looking forward to this one night getaway which was stolen from me. Expedia was incredible in the steps to ensure I received a full refund. It was nice to have the third party so that I didn’t have to subject myself to that level of harassment. I plan to contact our BBB and Attorney General to ensure this property’s advertisement is properly updated. Not for the sake of these two horrible owners, but in the hopes that I am saving someone else from such an agonizing experience.
