The room did not have a second sink for dishes. We were expected to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. We were told we were in a cheap room that did not provide a second sink. I was not told this while I was reserving the room. I did not perceive that what I paid was considered cheap. The furniture was old and scratched. There was one fork provided. As a hotel guest and paying over $250 for cleaning fees I don’t feel I should have to take out the trash. Amenities were a joke. The hand soap bar was the size of a dental floss container. The dish soap container was about the size of a 2 oz bottle. The shampoo and conditioner were in bottles on the wall so I had no idea of their ingredients. Also you had to buy if you needed more amenities. No class. It was noisy and you could hear your neighbors. Also as I checked out I realized I left my IPad in the room so I ran upstairs and asked the cleaning woman if she could let me in the room to get it. She said no. I had to go to the main office. I got the clerk to make me a key, drove back to the room got my IPad, went back to the office and returned the key. This could have been handled differently particularly since I was using a cane. I would never recommend this establishment. It is basically someone’s old condo being rented as a hotel room.

We appreciate your comments Judy and the Hotel room classification you booked does not have a kitchen like our one bedroom units. The rooms are serviced every 4th day and the fees you paid include reservation fee, Damage Waiver fee and checkout cleaning fee. We hope you enjoyed the area and Maui overall.

Bugs of various types in the kitchen including red roaches. Housekeeping came and sprayed twice. Both times the bugs were still there the next morning The staff at the front desk offered to change our room but at that point we were only going to be there one more night. Probably the bugs were already into our suitcases by then. Ugh! Overpriced and resort fees were high. There was a $150 room cleaning fee and they still want you to run the dishwasher, take out the trash and sweep. Of course there are the bugs too! Location okay.

It is nice that it is 3 minute walk to the beach. However, we had a rooster wake us up every morning at 430-5 am. When I asked if we could do a late check out and check out at noon rather than 11 I was told that wasn’t possible. I’ve never asked for a late check out and been told no.

This property was in a great location and our room was very clean, well decorated and had a nice view of a vacant lot and not other buildings. Location is so ideal walking distance to beaches, grocery store and restaurants. We had a great stay.
Downside was the 4 pm check in as if you get to Maui early there is no place to store luggage and we did see broken in cars on our trip and knew this was an issue (not at this site) and did not want to leave our vehicle in our rental car.
I did read the warnings about the cleaning fee but it is still shocking to see how many fees they tacked on our bill when they don't even come and clean every day: $200 Housekeeping departure fee with $34.83 tax on that fee, $39.99 Damage Waiver Fee with $6.97 tax on that fee, $29.99 Reservation Fee with $5.22 tax on that fee. The total extra fees were $317 and more than the room charge per night.
If there was some guarantee I would have just as nice of a room the next time I would probably return since the location was so great.

Our stay was very nice! Check in and check out was a breeze. The Maui banyan is located right across the street from Kam III beach! Good food options near by as well!
