If you want to experience traditional ryokan with fabulous meals, this is the place for you. It is a bit dated like visiting your relativeâs house in the small town. Itâs surrounded by maple forest, like living in a nice cabin. This is not modern hotel, if you set your expectation right, you will not be disappointed. All the stuffs are so kind and warm. They are great people dedicated to their jobs and it makes me want to visit Kyoto again.
We spent 1 night at this traditional Japanese inn. Our room was great and it was a wonderful experience to stay somewhere with tatami mats and sleep on futons. The riverside hotel is located in the most stunning, quiet, and peaceful forest. We enjoyed exploring the quiet beauty of it. We chose the half board rate which gave us supper and breakfast. The traditional food was delicious and very filling and eating riverside while it was raining was a highlight of our family trip to Japan. We did not use the onset as it was just too hot outside and have a warm bath did not seem refreshing to us. The shuttle to the train station made things very convenient. The property is old, and can use an update, but it was the location that was important to us. We had a wonderful time.
This was a return journey for us given our first stay in 2023. We ate outside by the river and yet again t was a memorable experience. Great local walks also complement a fantastic environment.
This Ryokan was one of the coolest experiences we have had in Japan. We love the location in the mountains, with easy to access temples and shrines nearby. The staff was very attentive and kind and treated us very nice. Very quiet very humble very Japan.
One of the greatest places to hike and to visit temples and shrines.
One of the best staff ever!
It includes free breakfast and it is very near Kyoto!
Only 50 minutes away from Kyoto station.
Must visit!
Maravilloso lugar, en medio del bosque, cerca del rĂo y de tres templos hermosos!
Es un hotel manejado por una familia. Todos estĂĄn siempre dispuestos a apoyarte en todo.
Comida deliciosa, habitaciones silenciosas. Dormimos excelente.
Muchas gracias por su hospitalidad y por sus atenciones!
An amazing and unique traditional stay in a small town outside of Kyoto. It is secluded and we were still able travel to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Kobe. Public transportation is provided multiple time every morning, and although I did a lot I highly recommend walking around the trails, and temples. My favorite temple was right behind the hotel, and it held amazing views and was not crowded at all. This was by far one of the coolest experiences iâve had, and if you are looking for a traditional stay this place is it. They cater to whatever need you might have, and everyone is so nice. It is hard to put into words how much I enjoyed this experience!
Great retreat from hustle and bustle of city life! Loved the location; morning walk to the Buddhist temples were so refreshing !
Old property, well maintained and well serviced.
