Publié le 3 août 2022 sur HomeAwayLa maison est située dans un endroit tranquille et paisible. La vue sur la baie fut très appréciée. Les jeux et la table de ping-pong furent très apprécié pour la seule journée de pluie que nous avons connue.

A slice of Acadia!
Publié le 24 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis home is more of a pan-abode style house than a log house and very rustic inside. The rooms are large and perfect for an active family. The location is a little distant from the usual attractions of Cape Breton Island. It's a good idea to ask to have the house aired for 2 days before you arrive.

Thank you for your review, Dianne. Cape Breton Island is very humid, and houses require a dehumidifier. You came just as ours passed away! Sorry about that. We have a new one.

I believe in as natural an environment as possible for a vacation home. The view of the ocean is profound, and for early risers, the southeast exposure allows for an inspiring dawn.

Worst place !
Publié le 4 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe arrived an hour early and and we had asked the owner could we get in early and he said prob not due to him and family staying there and the time it takes to clean but he told me he would leave door open and key on table ..didnt happen i had to track down the cleaning lady to get key ...he told me the lawn was mowed (we stayed there 2 years ago and the grass wasnt mowed )so he lied to me it was not mowed we brought outdoor games couldnt play them ! So ya we stayed there 2 years ago had no issues although house wasnt the cleanest but i didnt say anything. ...so since two years it went down hill the place smelled really bad like especially downstairs smelled "musty" you could see water stains all throughout the house, mold has to be growing there .the house was not cleaned ! We went out and bought bleach tonclean the bathroom it was disgusting! We had to take the first hour to clean the whole house ! everything felt damp!! The bed clothes were damp too and the beds we are pretty sure not changed good thing i brought my own pillow and blanket ! A piece of jewelry was found in a bed there was these weird water bugs throughout the house if u dropped a towel the bugs would be there wen ya picked up mouse poop in the bathroom down stairs and in a bedroom by the dresser .. when we first walked in the coffee table had something sticky all over it the kitchen chairs were all stained ! ...on the 3rd day the cleaning lady came to see if everything was ok she complained abo

I left the key on the ping pong table and the door open as I agreed. She said she saw the key, but went to the wrong door so couldn't get in. My family and I left the day they arrived. My cleaning lady told me none of us left a mess, but she cleaned anyway. My cleaning ladies always change the bedding. I don't recall telling her the lawn was mowed. I couldn't reach the man who mowed it. I don't believe there were any insects in the house nor mouse poop. The house didn't smell while we were there. The kitchen chairs are not brand new, and I don't deny the stains, but they are very old. The guests had left two leaf bags full of a mixture of plastic, metal, paper, trash and food waste which my cleaning lady said was too large to have been generated while the guests were there. She said it took three hours to properly separate it for Nova Scotia regulations. I fined the guests and gave the money to the cleaning lady.

Publié le 12 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe were very disappointed with our stay here, the house was very dirty and I had to clean the fridge which was disgusting,I vacuumed everywhere since the people that had it before us had a dog. We had to buy bedding because the bed was full of dog hair and the pillow cases were stained. The bathroom had a soap dish and that had several layers of used soap in it. We have been in touch with the owner and sent pictures for proof of what we were faced with. After waiting weeks for him to resolve the situation we got a sorry. We would not stay here again. We were very disappointed for the money we spent on this house.

The traveler made no specific request for correction of the complaint. I arrived here with family on August 10 and we saw no dog hair. If the travelers considered the bedding to be unacceptable, my caretaker could have been called and she would have brought new bedding. The soap dish was in a cabinet, not intended to be used by the travelers. I discussed the complaints with my caretaker. I believe the basic price of $140/night is very reasonable, considering the roominess of the house and the incredible ocean view.

Amazing ocean view
Publié le 5 janv. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe stayed over the Christmas holidays. The house is great with lots of beds for a group. The view of the ocean from the upper floor is amazing! Obviously it was winter when we were there so all we could do was look at the ocean. I’d love to stay here again in the summer and take advantage of the beach and ocean.

I'm so glad you liked the house. It was my late wife's idea to have the living area upstairs to get a better view. I hope you come back. Lots to do in the warmer weather.

Stunning & relaxing view

Need to change the photograph that shows sandy beach from the kitchen window. That’s misleading us to believe that the cottage is right on the water.

Rochi, Thank you for your review. I agree that what you see out of the left picture window might look like a beach, but I didn't say it was. I say that Point Michaud beach, 1.5 miles long, is six miles away.
