La Grange Blanche - Six Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 12
Gaze out towards bucolic landscapes of the Dordogne with rolling fields, summer sunflowers and woodland surrounding this beautifully converted farmhouse around a 20-minute drive from Riberac and Brantôme.
Dating back 400 years, La Grange Blanche sleeps up to 12 guests across its six charming bedrooms (four with en suite bathrooms), split across three wings of this characterful home. A spacious lounge features a stylish L-shaped sofa contrasting original features and the vast contemporary kitchen will impress the keenest of cooks inspired by Périgord’s fine cuisine. A second snug is a relaxing place to read or chat with a glass of wine whilst a full-sized pool table can be found through the heavy barn doors!
Lay back on the poolside sun loungers as you look out towards fruit trees and scenic countryside beyond, before taking a dip in the swimming pool. Gather on the benches by the barbecue for shady lunches with family and friends or lingering evening meals as the sun sets and the clear night sky appears. The 2.5 acres of grounds are glorious with ample space to play, relax and soak up the tranquil environment.
The house is set in a little hamlet only a 6-minute drive from an old village with a bakery, grocery store, tabac and café-bar. There’s a lovely pizzeria by the banks of the Dronne in Creyssac, just 10km away, and further restaurants in Bourdeilles, home to Château de Bourdeilles so gorgeously located by the river’s edge.
Discover canoeing, kayaking, riverside walks and boat rides in the wonderful town of Brantôme, soak up the atmosphere of the famous Friday morning market in Riberac and visit picture-perfect Dordogne villages such as Nontron, Saint-Jean-de-Côle and Villars. Appreciate the beauty of the Périgord Vert as you walk, hike and cycle through the undulating landscapes of meadows, streams, forests and hills.
This is also a great location for visiting the city of Périgueux, just over half an hour away, with its fine restaurants and markets showcasing Périgord gastronomy alongside the historic old quarter, Roman ruins, several museums and the magnificent Cathédrale Saint-Front de Périgueux

Location:
La Grange Blanche is located in northern Dordogne, around a 20-minute drive from the historic towns of Riberac and Brantôme. The converted semi-detached farmhouse is part of a small hamlet on the end of a road opening out to the countryside and its 2.5-acre garden looks out to gorgeous landscapes so typical of this region.
The nearest village is a six-minute drive away, home to a boulangerie, café-bar, tabac and small supermarket. Just outside the village there is a rustic farm where you can feed the animals and a historic working windmill. Come across a lovely pizzeria by the Dronne River in Creyssac (10km) and further restaurants in Verteillac (11km) and Bourdeilles (12km). A visit to the very beautiful Château de Bourdeilles is a must with its picturesque setting by the river.
Head to the traditional market town of Riberac (21km) on a Friday morning to experience its wonderful market or simply wander around the old lanes admiring characterful houses, pretty cafes, art galleries and the handsome townhall. There are some superb restaurants showcasing the fantastic cuisine of the Périgord region.
The picture-perfect town of Brantôme (21km) is another highlight of this area with its grand abbey and charming old town in such a bucolic setting by the river. Look out for canoeing and kayaking opportunities, take a river cruise or simply enjoy a walk and picnic in this idyllic setting.
Driving further north, Nontron (30km) is a pleasant village with a rich arts and crafts heritage, especially famous for its knives, located within the Parc naturel régional Périgord-Limousin.
Saint-Jean-de-Côle (38km) is a very pretty Dordogne village with its half-timbered houses, classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, whilst Thiviers (47km) hosts an atmospheric market on a Saturday morning – the historic town is known for its foie gras, walnuts and truffles.
Even closer to home is Périgueux (33km), also famous for its fine gastronomy which you can experience by visiting its vibrant markets and excellent restaurants. Potter around the little boutiques in the old quarter, stopping for a coffee on café terraces, then admire the Roman ruins, museums and impressive Cathédrale Saint-Front de Périgueux, a great focal point of this magnificent Dordogne city.
