The room was advertised as the Bourbon Suite which I assumed was in the main house. After I booked it the email received said we would be staying in the Bourbon cottage….which was a cottage not very close to the main house which is where breakfast was served…so that was discouraging. The B&B is located in a sketchy part of town. We did not feel safe. During the day we saw well-advertised prostitutes walking the street and at night it was very noisy with a lot of drag racing on the road that is in front of the B&B. Also heard several police cars with sirens. The breakfast was nicely prepared and delicious. We had french toast, one egg and one sausage on the first morning and the next morning was shrimp and grits over an egg and a biscuit. The staff was very nice. We will not be back…mainly because of the location.

Belle demeure avec magnifique jardin.. notre chambre était belle, juste la salle de bain à refaire, et mettre plus de 3 ceintures. Le petit déjeuner est très quelconque, sans choix, et surtout, à part un jeune français adorable qui nous a accueilli à l’arrivée nous indiquant quoi faire dans le coin, et quel restaurant choisir, nous n’avons jamais rencontré ni était accueilli par les propriétaires !!!!!!! Très étonnant pour une maison d’hôte !!!!!

Girls trip made memorable at Mouton

We loved every minute of our stay. If I had one complaint it would be that our stay wasn’t long enough. The room was perfect. Although for two women traveling together we had wished for just one more mirror. Haha The beds were so comfortable that it was hard to leave them come morning. Every member we encountered was more than helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great!! Community coffee on tap was the best. I will say I would have also liked to have had that in our room too. But it’s definitely not a dealbreaker of any kind. The location was quite conveniently located yet gave a sense of security and seclusion at the same time. Parking was great. Checking in and out was the easiest process I’ve ever experienced. You can hear street noises but it had no affect on our ability to sleep or our stay. My daughter and I had planned our first of many girls trip. When we started planning we both said we wanted to stay in a place that was an experience not just another hotel. Y'all perfectly provided that for us!! We will be back! C'est ce bon!

Historical stay with gracious host.

Alex, a young man from France, checked us in and was especially helpful and kind. We took his recommendation for authentic Cajun food and it was excellent. Donelle, the manager was wonderful as well, giving us a personal tour of the house along with many stories. She and her family were part of the rich history of the area, so she had many inside anecdotes. This is a special place to stay if you have any interest in delving deeper into Lafayette and Cajun heritage.

The property and grounds are beautiful. I was leery when I arrived as the surrounding area is a little suspicious. My sister who is from there later relayed she was at first concerned but as their reviews were high she hadn't rec that I change location. The bed and linens were so comfortable and breakfast was delicious. My only true issue was with the door - the dead bolt was sticking and I had difficulty getting it locked and actually had to call for someone to let me out once I did. They assured me they would fix it and felt it was from the recent snow and wet conditions.
