Our recent girlsâ trip to Lake Lure Resort was overall enjoyable, though there were a few bumps along the way.Right before we arrived, I received a text saying the inspector hadnât passed the pilot light on the fireplaces, so we werenât able to use them during our stay. It was a bit disappointing, especially since it was last-minute, but we appreciated being notified. Iâm still waiting on the 15% refund that Greg promised on 10/25 at 11:38 AM, as I havenât seen any activity on my card yet.The cabin itself was nice, but it seemed like the downstairs had only been spot-swept â there was still some dust, a few dead water bugs, and even a broken window. When we arrived, the front of the resort didnât have our car information, which caused a delay and held up the line. It felt a little disorganized between the resort and the front desk, though everyone was polite.Despite those issues, the trip ended up being relaxing. The sound of the creek behind the house was absolutely beautiful and could be heard in every room â that was definitely a highlight and made the setting feel peaceful and remote. Just note that the location is quite secluded, and restaurants outside the resort can be slow, especially for larger groups, likely due to limited staffing.Overall, our girlsâ getaway was still a nice experience, but thereâs room for improvement in communication, organization, and maintenance. Weâd likely choose something other than a resort next time.
