I was born and raised in Lakeland, but left in 1970 when the Terrace Hotel was in decline. It's wonderful to see it restored.

Clean room, but Clorox smell was so strong! The room was the smallest I stayed at, including cheap motels. The shower was so narrow! The shower head, tiny. Nasty flush button. Mattress not so comfortable (might be old) noise?! From the 7th floor you can hear everything happening in the streets and in the building, Including employees talking in the hallway around 8 am. Really nice ladies wellcome us at checking in and out. Beautiful lobby, excellent restaurant. Great location…value? Only the lobby and the mentioned restaurant are worthy of the e price you pay, so no, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Booked The Terrace for one night of “lakeside elegance” before an early flight. The photos promised Southern grace. Reality delivered something else. No porter in sight, so two old ladies wrestled luggage up the stairs. The front desk staff were irritated at us for interrupting their chit-chat. The extra "fees" tacked on by the hotel added $120 to the cost of the room. Found out “Lakeside” means a view of a parking deck and dumpsters. The shower track featured mold and rust. Room service arrived cold in cardboard takeout boxes. At midnight the fire alarm went off. I dressed my octogenarian mother and hauled her down five flights of stairs. Fire trucks arrived before hotel staff explained anything. Eventually someone from the kitchen said, “Pipe burst, no fire, you can go back up.” At 5am we discovered there was no water. None. Not for coffee, toilets, or handwashing. The desk said they “didn’t want to wake us again” to tell us. We brushed our teeth at the airport. Learned from the restoration crew that the water shutoff disabled the fire sprinklers, which triggered the alarm. Guests were sent back into a high-rise with no fire suppression, no sanitation, and no communication. Misleading photos. Hidden fees. Mold, rust, cardboard cuisine, and zero emergency management. My mother deserved better. So do you.

This was my second stay here. Overall very enjoyable stay with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Amazingly friendly staff, special thanks to Owen for helping me extend my stay. Perfect location, walkable to everything- bars, restaurants, walk around the lake, and really nice Farmers Market on Saturdays. Looking forward to returning to Lakeland Terrace in the future.

Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Excellent restaurant. The hotel is older and the windows are single glass. You can hear everything outside. Make sure you get an upper floor. 8th or 9th.

I loved the lake view. My room was a little noisy but there's not much you can do about that. I didn't get a free breakfast so not sure what happened with that. But the people who worked there was so pleasant and helpful I was really impressed. I would love to come again.

The historic hotel has been restored to perfection. Really enjoyed our dinner in the Terrace Grill. The downtown area has many options for dining and good times. Highly recommend a walk around Lake Mirror for the view and gardens.
