Did not live up to its reputation. Disappointed...

Posted Jan. 28, 2019 on Hotels
The hotel is definitely in need of some renovations. The decor is very very basic and a bit old-fashioned. We stayed on the lower floor and it felt quite claustrophobic. The patio door was the only opening. There was no windows in the bathroom and no fan. We really wondered about what to do in case of a fire!!! We were very disappointed when we went to the hotel restaurant. Nothing was set up and we were told that we should have booked in advance. No one made us aware of this important point since there are no other restaurants around. So we drove all the way to town. There was a big event taking place at the hotel so it was obvious to us where their priority was. One positive note: the swimming pool is great.

Horrible place

Posted Mar. 17, 2018 on Hotels
where to start ? Waste and pestilent waters at our arrival in front of reception. The horrible, horrible state of pavement in the way with no sign visible of the place, almost give up going, no beach whatsoever around, chairs at pool imposible to use, A/C unit in room attached to room key, so when you leave the room forced to disconnect the unit, 2 towels per room and worst quality, will damage your skin, 12" TV...... Will never, never return. Only thing positive, the chef at the restaurant, nicest, sweet guy and excellent food.

Vacation within our vacation

Posted Jan. 24, 2018 on Hotels
We went here as a vacation from our vacation. Rented an Airbnb in Schoelcher and wanted to stay on the other side of the island with a pool. We were not disappointed. Stayed one night. Very quiet. Almost like we were there by ourselves. Pool was amazing. Very isolated area but that was great. Only complaint was wifi let us down in our rooms that evening. Got connected out by the pool but wanted to watch a movie in the room. There were several cats roaming around the grounds. Being cat lovers, we were okay with that.

Not the best

Posted Nov. 20, 2017 on Hotels
The AC only had one setting, very cold. The internet did not work. Very frustrating when you're a visitor from America because we heavily relied on internet. The man who greeted us and showed us to our room was very nice and helpful. We wanted to eat at the hotel the next day and they said they were full and could not accommodate us. Overall, not the best stay.

Will not go back

Posted May 27, 2017 on Hotels
The room was so hot when we get there first the Ac remote was not working. Once we got a new one it took 1 h before the temperature got to a comfortable level, confirmed by a staff who came to check it. No coeffee maker, no iron. Breakfast 1:30 before the end of the scheduled service, no more eggs, to a buffet with already not much offered.

The road less travelled...leads you here

Posted Feb. 7, 2016 on Hotels
I needed from time away from the cold and to get my head right for the upcoming year. I booked last minute and did some quick research. The hotel seemed out of the normal hustle and bustle. When I got there it was late but the kitchen agreed to stay open. I could not get a rent a car so the hotel owner loaned me his. I could not translate so the beautiful Celine and her Partner took me under their wing and even offered me a ride back to the airport at the end of my stay. You MUST stay when they have the live performance. The whole place turns into one big private party. And the singer (although in French) invites just about everyone up to sign. You get a right amount of sun coupled with a gentle breeze and the staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. They provided excellent day trip ideas and even invited me to join them for lunch. A real gem start to finish. Imagine..the hotel owner loaned me his car when I could not locate a car rental...talk about the customer coming first!!!!!!!

Lovely pool

Posted Feb. 23, 2015 on Expedia
The hotel grounds and public areas are very spacious and well presented and the pool gorgeous. There is no beach to speak of or any other facilities such as shops, nearby so it was necessary to drive for these. The approach road to the hotel from the main road is about 2kms of rutted track. Breakfast was excellent and other food good if a little expensive. At the weekend there was night time entertainment which was rather loud and went on till 2am which was very disturbing for those who preferred to be asleep!

Nice hotel with great views in a peaceful location

Posted Jan. 27, 2014 on Expedia
Pros: Rooms with balcony, refrigerator and microwave, excellent for relax with great views. Large pool.
Cons: Air conditioning did not work, room very hot. They do not leave the AC control for you, it is set at a fixed temperature. Many mosquitos no wire mesh,
Location: Best beaches: Point Faula very close (15 minutes by car) and Salitral, near St Anne very cozy white sand, palms and very good sea.
You better speak French, staff only understands few English words. Rooms are good, hotel in a excellent surrounding. No traffic even near. Hotel has a beach, but was not good, imagine due to the month was full of leaves and algae. Dinner is quite expensive for what you get. Breakfast is good but not cheap either. Very near, in Le Vauclin and Point Faula there are very good options for lunch/dinner
