The town of Leek, 7 miles, has a variety of antique emporiums to browse in and various shops to explore. Cycle hire is 4 miles away on the Manifold Trail. Alton Towers with the Splash Landings Waterpark and Churnet Valley Steam Railway are within 10 miles. Approximately 15 miles away are the Trentham Gardens, Monkey Forest, Waterworld and the Pottery Museum in Stoke-on-Trent, as well as Chatsworth House and Sudbury Hall (National Trust).
