Couldn't ask for a better place to stay

The hotel location was excellent - in the heart of Marble Arch, surrounded by retail, cafes and bars, and opposite Hyde Park. It was so central to discover London. The included breakfast was great - a choice of full English with made to order omelettes, or continental, fruit, cereal - anything you could want to set you up for a long day of sightseeing. My son turned 18 while we were there. We came back from The Tower of London to find some cake and a bottle of bubbly - what a lovely touch. Overall, it was a perfect time, such friendly staff who bend over backwards to make sure your stay is as it should be. Thank you so much!!!

Surprisingly comfortable

expect a fairly basic hotel I was surprised at the efficiency and condition of thistle hotel very comfortable and spacious. I’d be happy to stay again.

Not what I expected

Be prepared to walk miles to your room from the lifts that have a mind of their own. Press to go up and it will go up one floor and then down again so it will take a while to get to your floor if on 6+. Every corridor looks the same and branches of into long corridor of rooms so maybe something a little different with signing would help. I feel there should be more fire doors between the very long corridors. Toilets on floor 1 next to bar and restaurant were dirty, having to walk out of 3 separate toilets. Plus: Location was good. The staff in the restaurant were very pleasant and accommodating especially as we had an allergy request. We only had 1 bath towel and hand towel between us.

It’s just ok

The hotel is a very busy one, my room was very far from the elevator, if you’re a light sleeper or doing like loud noises then this hotel is not for you. I could hear voices, doors slamming and foot steps all the time, the fire alarm was so loud in the morning, also I had a do not disturb on my door but house keeping still knocked to ask if I will be checking out later. Over all it’s just ok nothing fancy, way too crowded and noisy rooms.

Brilliant location by Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Only a short walk to Hyde park which was prefect. When we arrived although requested early check-in it wasn’t available, and then when I came to check-in at 5pm after seeing a show it was a bit chaotic - no idea where the queue started or ended - it would have been better for it to be more organised. Our room was upgraded which was a very nice touch and the room was amazing - and we looked on to Oxford Street. The breakfast was brilliant well worth the extra price. Would most definitely stay here again.

Well located near Marble Arch tube and easy venue to find. Entrance ok, although escalator out of action. Reception good and quick, bar area nice. Room lovely and large. Bed very comfortable and great to have plug and usb bits next to the bed. overall good experience and will return

I arrived to a blunt staff member who took a long time to acknowledge me and then proceeded to give me a room key which didn’t work. The second staff member was better. The room itself was average but the bathroom was dirty with mould in the shower. When I checked out I left my luggage and stuff were rude and blunt again. When collecting my luggage it took 15 minutes with no system and the staff passed around my luggage tickets for another 5 minutes. When they finally found my cases after helping other customers behind me in the queue I had been waiting 20 minutes. The whole experience was a let down for the price I paid.
