This hotel is very well located to Luna Park, the Palais Theatre and Acland St. Our room was much larger than I expected, it was clean. Public transport is very close by.

The first room that I was offered had an extremely offensive smell and when I asked to be moved the staff member wanted to know what the smell was. It smelled like animal faces that had been covered up with lots of cleaning products. I asked to see another room which didn’t have a smell at all which I took. The glasses and spoons in the room were all dirty. The mattress was extremely hard so I took the blanket out of the cupboard to fold up and put under the underlay in the hopes that it would soften the bed. The blanket was stained and extremely dirty. When I showered the tap cover fell off the shower. The staff were nice and kind. I feel the Hotel needs a whole renovation and new bedding and that the cleaners do their job properly.

The room was very spacious and clean and the staff were great. The particular room I was in was a bit noisy with street traffic and trams but I was only there for 1 night and can sleep through anything so it wasnt a problem for me.

Very old building, with very old fittings. Nothing like the pictures. Cramped bathroom, and visible scum line around bath (not fully cleaned). Sink blocked and not draining properly. Old TV and noisy walkways due to old metal balconies. Plus points are quality bed, and good location. Wouldn't stay again.
