The property was nice , soon as you walk in the smell of the house is so amazing . The bed was so comfortable . Everything was easy to assess and the host was very helpful when the password to the door didnât work .
The property was maybe a block from Overton Park, but the neighborhood was quite off-putting. Arrived with garbage piled up on the curb, and no one took their green dumpsters off the street. The smell was awful! Cleanliness was sub-standared, brought it too the proprietor's attention and he was responsive and said he would check into it. Then I was told there was a pet fee of 99 that I never saw in the listing, yet was forthright about traveling with two small dogs when I made the reservation. It felt like I was living in the third world.
I couldnât give a five-star rating due to a couple of issues we encountered during our stay.First, there was a lingering sewage-like smell that appeared only after flushing the toilet or using the shower. It seems to be related to the older plumbing in the building.Additionally, we noticed some visible grime on the legs of the kitchen tableâpossibly old food or something similarâwith an unpleasant odor.We brought both issues to the attention of the property manager, Adam, who was very responsive and assured us he would address the concerns with the cleaning staff. Also, for those unfamiliar with Midtown, itâs worth researching the area beforehand. The street has a certain historic charm, but it may not be considered one of the more desirable neighborhoods. That said, Adam was very pleasant, responsive, and easy to work with. I was promised a 20 credit for the issues, but havenât seen that yet.I would consider staying here again if the plumbing and cleanliness issues are resolved.Thank you.
