ROMANTIC, ARTISTS PRIVATE 'FOREST SUITE', 5 acres Redwoods, Trails, Mendo 2 mi.

"Nothing comes closer to perfect than Jen's place."

Forest Suite is located just a few minutes south from the village of Mendocino on 5 acres of beautiful redwoods. This 550 sq. ft. apartment plus 200sq ft deck, is upstairs from my 2,000 sq. ft artist’s studio, which is not in use when guests are staying. Built entirely with redwood, recycled fir and barn wood with cement counters and shower this romantic getaway is a very special spot.

The south wall is all windows facing the deck with deck chairs and a table with two chairs for dining overlooking the surrounding towering redwiids. It’s very peaceful and sunny and is frequented by honeymooners, artists, writers and those seeking total privacy. A few books and screenplays have been written here!

There is an eclectic book and DVD library to enjoy, internet, Direct TV and some boardgames. For your comfort there is a cozy gas fireplace, a ceiling fan, a standing fan and removable window screens in the hall closet. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are also yoga mats and weights for your use.

Take a walk through the forest; you will see a TRAIL sign by the driveway which will take you through the property and out onto Gordon Lane for a longer walk. There is a bench along the trail and also a deck in the trees for yoga or meditation, or just relax at the Suite and enjoy the tranquility.

The forest suite is surrounded by gorgeous trees which provide a beautiful view from inside the suite and on the deck. The host was a super great communicator throughout my stay. It is close the community of Mendicino as well as Fort Bragg, where the ocean views are spectacular. I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful location

Cute little place, quiet and great location within easy distance to nearby towns. Bed was not comfortable a bit harder then we prefer, TV (smart tv) was intermittent and only turned on and worked when it wanted. Charming place but cleanliness to be desired. It was dirty, smelled bad, musty and spiderwebs inside in a number of places. Could use a deep cleaning, windows, cob webs, etc. Host was great with excellent communication.

Roadtrip

This place was everything we had hoped for after our month long, Pacific NW roadtrip. Was able to actually kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet of this Artist's Suite. Incredible redwood, repurposed fir and barnwood structure.Was beautiful decorated, so very comfortable,and close to the coast.Definitely a place we'd love to come back to and stay longer!

Brilliantly designed "studio" (it has a full kitchen) feels like a luxury treehouse. Serene and secluded, while minutes away from Mendocino's amentities and activities. Spotless and comfortable. Perfect for a solo respite or couple.

Romantic Retreat

We loved everything about it. The only thing we would have wanted was screens on the windows so we could open them. Flies got in if we left door open even for a minute. Place was stuffy without fresh air. Fan helped a bit. But again: we loved the place, had a great time, and would stay there again and recommend to others.

A forest oasis...

Our 4-night stay at the Forest Suite just outside of Mendocino village was wonderful. It was a delightful escape from Silicon Valley, to be able to sit and look /listen/smell the redwood forest from the front deck was truly delightful. Early April meant showers the first day, but glorious sunshine and wildflowers after. A few deer came out of the woods to nibble on the grass below. The cabin was fully stocked and thoughtfully appointed; one of the best VRBO properties we've ever visited. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a few meals, the bed was extremely comfortable, and linens were top quality and soft. We lost power the first evening (rainy) but only for about 10 minutes. But emergency lighting was available and Jen (the host) contacted us via text to be sure we were OK. Mendocino village is about 5 minutes north of the cabin on Hwy 1. There you will find a grocery store as well as a variety of restaurants, shops and art galleries. Nearby are public forest lands and beaches, so take your pick. Note: the suite is on the second floor of a cabin with well-lit wooden steps, but may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The bottom floor appears to be an art studio, but we saw no activity during our visit.

A Tranquil Coastal Retreat

This was a perfect stay in a quaint and cozy suite with a perfect woodland view. The decor was tasteful and all the essential amenities were in place plus bonuses like the DVD collection. You can't help leave more relaxed after a stay here and the location is perfect - close but not too close to Mendocino.

Comfy and cozy - an actual dream

Wonderful stay

This is the 4th or 5th time we have stayed here and each stay is as wonderful as the last. It is serene with big windows that let in so much light, even on cloudy days. It’s a short drive everywhere you want to explore. Thank you for sharing your wonderful space and can’t wait to return!
