Great stay

Publié le 2 août 2022 sur HomeAway
Excellent location for the beach (stony beach below the apartment) , old town, full sea front, shops (5 mins to carrefour with fresh bread and fruit/veg) and train station. 10 minute walk through the gardens to train station and a 10-15 minute walk up to the port/beach. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby too. Good communication from the owner and Giovanna who checked us in. We were two 40 year olds and my in laws (80yrs and 86yrs). The apartment had everything we needed and was clean. Two balconies big enough to sit out on, lovely views and air con in the living room and one bedroom (ceiling fan in the other) definitely needed whilst going through a heat wave! We felt there was plenty of storage for clothes and cases, plenty of hangers to hang clothes up and wash clothes if needed. It is a little noisy from the streets below but just normal traffic nothing excessive, once doors are closed at night there is barely any noise. Would definitely stay again! Vanilla bakery below the apartment is a lovely cafe for breakfast and coffees. Train: 40 mins to Nice, 11 mins to Monaco.

Beautiful large suite, fantastic location, but be aware

Publié le 22 juill. 2022 sur HomeAway
We stayed in this apartment for 90 nights, March-June, 2022. Overall, the property is very much as advertised. Nice large two-bedroom unit, on the water in a quaint little town near Monaco. Lots of great restaurants nearby. For context, in addition to this 90-night stay, we have rented 100's of nights in VRBO/AirBnB”s throughout the world, always enjoying our experiences and have never had any difficulties or challenges. In this unit, there were small issues, such as no user documentation in the unit and limited cleaning supplies, but these were minor and not relevant. Our only challenge was with the landlord who not only appeared to be unwilling to take responsibility for the problems, but was seemingly and somewhat wanting to blame the renters. For instance, the dishwasher, whose interior contained significant rust did not operate, however the owner accused us of breaking it. A bathroom sink leaked continually throughout our stay, yet somehow the owner indicated that we caused this. A key, we lost on the beach was returned in just 48 hours, but was deemed no longer usable. We scrubbed the unit including a tedious effort on the kitchen grout, however the landlord deemed this as leaving the unit in shambles. Fortunately, by this point we knew to take videos. During a significant windstorm, which are common and cool, my wife stepped out on the balcony forcing a wind tunnel through our unit causing an interior door to slam breaking the glass. In fairness, I own this, an expense of about 200-300€, however the landlord claimed not only my $500€ damage deposit, but also arbitrarily charged my Amex for an additional 520€ with no backup or explanation other than a “ you broke my dishwasher, my door, lost my key and did not clean my apartment”. In closing, it is a very nice unit in a great location, however plan to take lots of videos and documentation.

He broke my glass door that enters the kitchen. It is almost impossible to break this door because it was 3 meters or more away from the door to the kitchen balcony unless he left every window in the home open. He broke my dishwasher by putting something sharp in it and it put a hole in the bottom that made the electricity trip. We had to call an electrician. The dishwasher was fairly new and I didn’t read the apartment for months before he rented it. To top it all off he lost a set of keys in the ocean. The keys were special keys that cannot be duplicated. I hired someone to change the lock button luckily somebody found the keys in the ocean and return them to our building. They scratch the top of my dining room table which cannot be fixed unless I take all the varnish off of everything. In All, yes was a lesson learned for me. After almost two months I’m still trying to recover the damages from him through VRBO.

Nice apartment but lacking items

Publié le 22 févr. 2020 sur HomeAway
The apartment was large and very nice. Great location but lacked storage space in bedrooms, no where to put small items and not many hangers. The apartment was mainly clean but the I had to wash the cutlery before using. There was no table on the balcony and all the balconies were very narrow although we had great views. The agent did not speak English so we had to contact her by WhatsApp. The smoke detector was beeping on the odd occasion at night which we found annoying. The apartment is close to the town which is charming and there were many restaurants.

Every room has a big closet with hangers. Smoke detector batteries were replaced recently before your stayed . Hopefully nobody was smoking inside my apartment. And english is my first language by the way . I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to having you again.

Spacious flat by the old town and the beach

Publié le 4 oct. 2018 sur HomeAway
My husband, sister and I stayed a week here, and really enjoyed our time in this rental. We had two bedrooms, one full bath and one half bath as advertised. Amalia was very responsive with a small issue that we had, discovered to be dead batteries in the remote for the cable TV. The real plus of this flat is the location and view from the large living/dining room. Floor to ceiling windows all around with a view from one end of the Mediterranean and the Casino next door. Furniture was modern and nice, the area where the TV is could benefit from a console to hide the jumble of wires, as the rest of the room is quite pretty. The bedrooms were nice, maybe need a little storage for small items. The closets had hangars, so not a problem there. One bedroom has AC, the other does not, so needed to leave the door open at night to cool off a bit. Kitchen had everything you could need, but being so close to the restaurants and old town, going out was a pleasure. We did not have a car, so no need of parking but it was available. The beach and restaurants right downstairs. It was a lovely stay, and recommend the flat and the area in beautiful Menton to all.

lovely property

Publié le 6 sept. 2018 sur HomeAway
The property was lovely, exactly as described and pictured. It was right on the beach and central to everything. Old Menton was very close and the best bakery in town was across the street. Shops and cafes were all around us. The apartment had every appliance small and large and an abundance of dishes. The only issue was the parking. There was an underground parking spot, that had been taken over by someone else and so we had to park in other people’s spots. Each day that we went to get the car, we were concerned that perhaps it would have been towed away, but we were OK. THE LAST MORNING WHEN WE WERE LEAVING, OUR DESIGNATED SPOT WAS EMPTY. On our arrival date my husband had to drive around in circles for over an hour, for all of the town parking was full. The property manager was in the apartment but would not tell us which apartment to go up to or at least where our parking spot was. But all ended well.

I can’t really comment on this because I was never informed of this problem. If you would’ve told me I would have takin care of the issue. I am sorry my assistant didn’t tell you where the parking spot was but I will speak with her. Once again I was the one in contact with you and I would’ve taken care of any problems. I’m glad you enjoyed my apartment thank you so much. We enjoy going there also.

Excellent apartment with amazing views

Publié le 23 oct. 2017 sur HomeAway
My wife and I have just returned from a 9 night stay in this great apartment in Menton. This was our second trip to Menton and the coast and we loved it even more then the first time. Booking was easily and Amalia was very prompt in her responses and assistance. We loved the location of this building and the proximity to so many restaurants, the beach and train station. The apartment is just as good as it looks on the website. The main living room has floor to ceiling windows and a great views of both the mountains and the sea. There are two verandas that allow for seating; one facing the sea and the other the mountains. While it was just the two of use we really appreciated the two bedrooms and the bath and a half. The kitchen was well stocked and allowed us to cook several meals in. This unit also comes with a free garage parking space right in the building. This was very helpful as parking is not always readily available along the coast. There are even beach chairs and an umbrella that you can take to the beach directly across the street. High-point’s/ Recommendations: 1. Saint Agnes 2. Monaco 3. Ventimiglia - shopping 4. Dolceacqua 5. Villefranche sur mer 6. Restaurants- Pizza Vesuvio, La Fabrique, Le Stanley, La Rotonde

Very nice apartment, but had sewage back up that was not dealt with during our stay

Publié le 19 août 2017 sur HomeAway
I never write reviews (although I like to read them when I am going somewhere ), but I promised myself I will write this one. The apartment is very nice and looks exactly as in pictures - spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Location is very central and right on the beach with lots of restaurants and cafes around. It would have been a 5 star place if the problem with sewage back up in the bathroom that lasted for the last 3 days of our stay had been dealt with. Instead, my husband had to clean the mess from the bathtub 3 times so that we can have a shower. It was pretty ugly. We had alerted the owner and they kept promising to get a plumber in, but that didn't happen while we were there. This kind of ruined our vacation at the end.

I received the message in the evening from Diana Rakocevic saying that the toilet was backed up, I immediately contacted my management to send someone right away but the plumber was on vacation and when they called someone else he wasn't able to access the apartment. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but my apartment has 2 bathrooms and I sent someone to check the toilet after they left and they said they put an excessive amount of toilet paper that had backed up the toilet. I never had any problem with sewage in that apartment before or even after. I'm really sorry you had this problem and I hope you enjoyed your time in Menton.
