Monterey Gem!!
Posted Feb. 1, 2024 on HotelsDefinitely the best place to stay in Monterey! I loved the lounge with live music and Bar for an evening wind down, and the spa was wonderful! The hotel is a very close to the bike path that we took to the 17 Mile Drive. Our room was ready on time and they even gave us a free upgrade with the full Ocean View, lucky us!! The next time I'm in Monterey, I'm definitely going to stay here again!!

The perfect hotel

Tough start - good finish
Posted Jan. 25, 2024 on HotelsOverall, our stay was pretty great though the start was less than optimal. The picture of the room I booked was not indicative of what the room actually was ( i did not book the cheapest level). We booked a "city view with balcony" and believe me when I say we were given the absolute worst room in the place - right above the dumpster and in the delivery drive for the hotel AND the restaurant next door. Not pleasant and not really warranted as the hotel was certainly not booked out. The next day I went to the front desk and told them I was not happy and they kjnd of snickered because they knew the room was really bad. They agreed to move us at an additional cost of $100 per night.and said it was at a discount. The new room was really wonderful - overlooking the ocean. We could see Sea Otters at play and could hear the seals, too. Room was very comfortable!
