Wonderful staff and people

We loved everything about this place. I traveled with my two children (18 and 20- not really children). We loved the people, the room, and the bar. The local feel and welcome was amazing. I would go back and stay more than a night.

Book and pay for a bed and sleep in your car

Booked this hotel with me working in the area... Explained i would be going out to work at 9pm and returning around 4am...was assured the back door would be left unlocked for me.. How wrong was i.. Ended up sleeping in my car unable to contact anyone.. Young girl who originally checked me in was so apologetic but was not offered a refund or even a complimentary drink... What hotel has to rely on someone remebering to leave the back door unlocked is just ridiculous... Food lovely though in the bar ..

David, we hold our hands up and admit that it was disgraceful for you to have to sleep in your car from 5am to 9am the young lady should have given you a key for the door knowing that you were going to be late back.We are a small guest house/Inn with 10 rooms, we are not a hotel with all-night reception. I stay in an apt in the building my phone number is written on the door which we leave open till 1 am.Our guests normally check in at 3 pm have food and drinks in our restaurant and bar have a great time and go to bed around midnight, we do not leave doors open after 1 am to protect all our guests.Your original booking was for one night so I was very surprised to find out that the next morning when you should have been so annoyed and demanding a refund, instead you actually extended your stay and booked into another room this time checking it at 9am instead of our usual check-in time of 3pm which is an extra 6 hours in your room and thankfully you were able to get sleep.The young lady told me that you were friendly on the Sunday morning and you seemed fine she was more than surprised when she read your review, but then again she is very young and must have misread your demeanour.As I said your original booking was for one night only I somewhat understand your low score of 2 (our average score is 9.4) for the Friday night, all I can do is apologise for you having to stay in your car, but on Saturday you stayed with us on a new booking from 9am to 12 pm on Sunday, yet you scored that stay also a two, that I find unfair.As all your dealings were with Expedia including the fact that you paid them directly and not the hotel why don’t you call them and between Expedia and ourselves we can come to some arrangement for compensation?Richard Hayes

The Garrandarragh Inn was one of the best surprises we had during our 17 day visit to Ireland. The Inn is an historic building but our room was modern and very well appointed. My wife got turned around in the hallway and must have looked lost. The owner of the hotel escorted her to the right room and talked with us for 20 minutes. Could not have been nicer.

Comfortable stay

Really friendly and helpful staff. Huge room. Clean. Plenty of shampoos, body wash, water, tea and coffee. Good, reasonably priced breakfast - go full Irish.
