You won’t get cold feet (like, literally)
Posted Jan. 5, 2019 on HotelsMyvatn : a fantastic northern Iceland destination just a few kilometers south if the arctic circle. Tonight though, it felt more like Death Valley with no AC. We never figured out how to turn off that damn heater. The wind was blowing sideways to the building, but we still liked to pretend opening the windows helped cooling down the place.
We thought about cooking eggs (preferably rotten) on our mattress, like they do on the asphalt of Highway 66. Anyway, the water here affected our digestion so, even though we couldn’t see the eggs, we sure as hell could smell them. That never fails to liven up a dull evening.
When we figured out that the thermostat was in the hallway outside the room, I just couldn’t sleep anymore so I wrote this. Can’t wait to be back.
Edit 30 mins later : Nevermind, that thermostat doesn’t do a thing.
